Different shops mean different things to different people. Personally I won't bother with colemans, their workshop is shocking.

yeah, I even picked your arse up to take you there for battery and tyres and they were hardly interested.
one good experience and you'd have probably thought of them first next time you had a problem.
customer service is not a strong point in many of Aucklands bike shops.

Shows how much I know...
But on that note, if their that bad, then post a message on that site.
Better to let people know and share the knowledge. Stop others fromg etting ripped off... I think that's what the sites about anyways.
Screw the bad guys out of business and help the good ones.

Dont worry about it, there are many different opinions on KB. If you think Colemans are good then go for it... There are few people on KB who have worked for them.
However all I will say is some people say they are terrible, while others swear by them - rather make up your own mind than let KB sway you

Good idea re that website but as far as Colemans are concern I give them a wide berth due to past issues and prefer my local(Whangarei) Suzuki shop,Maunders Suzuki.
Excellent straight up customer service....and they let me ride their bikes

Thanks about the site. From the sounds of it, more people like them less then those who do.
All I can say is if you can help one person by stopping them from making a bad decision, then you've done a good thing.
Hardest thing is getting people to share their knowledge.

i like paragon here in wanganui. never been in there before, but a good friend recommended them. after having had a gutsful of crap service from the local 'zuki dealer, i bit the bullet and went to paragons. i ended up selling them the 'zuki, and have spent about $3000 there, with more to come.
they treated me good and with real respect too, plus done me good deals. i cant recommend them enough.

I recommend, HENDERSON MOTORCYLES in view road, henderson.
They have always given me good advice, and being small you get that feeling of better customer service.

A happy Colemans customer is just one who hasn't needed a problem fixed. If it weren't for the fact that modern bikes are damn near bullet-proof, Colemans would be out of business by now.

I wonder if anyone here in NZ (biking press) has ever deliberately set up a bike and taken it to a dealer (actually , several dealers) for servicing to see if that workshop actually spots the all the deliberate mal-adjustments etc. This ploy was used by Ride Magazine in the UK to sort out the men from the cowboys. Things like scratching a discreet mark on an oil filter to check that they dont just wipe it clean and re-use it... or loosening the odd bolt here an there...or deflating a tyre slightly... or over tightening a chain. The results were quite alarming and it certainly bucked a few peoples ideas up a bit.
Might work here too if certain dealers' workshops are, shall we say "a little slack."

The Phantom Shopper - you can use that method for nearly everything that concerns the consumer...it's a pity no one ever reverses the ploy.I'd love to see someone set up Fair Go or Target.Consumer Magazine has no letters to the editor - for good reason!
