If you lose your licence for drink driving, do you lose all your licences?

Eg: Cage+Bike? Or just the licence that you were on when you got caught?

are you for real!
of course you lose the lot, and if you lose your licence a number of times (not sure how many) they cancel all your endorsements, ie: your bike, heavy trade class ones and you have to re do them all!

Good job your question was hypothetical then innit?

So now you won't get caught boozed on a bike.

Does this apply no matter what the reason for losing your licence? I guess so.

I've always wondered... If I get too many demerit points through speeding on my bike and "lose my licence", I'm happy to take the punishment and park the bike up for however long. But does that mean I also can't drive the cage any more (in which I've never had a ticket)? If so, recreational biking could have a huge impact on your every day life. (Makes note to self...)

yep. one of my biggest arguments with insurance company. My excess for the car has doubled because of my demerit points (90) even though all my tickets have been on a bike. If i lose my licence by getting 1 more ticket 9if it be on the bike or car) then that will cancel my insurance for the car and they will not insure me until 2 years AFTER I GET MY LICENCE BACK. That is no insurance for the time I have no licence for (understandable) and then ANOTHER 2 year stand down period. It really sucks. Especially being as I have never had a claim. i argued that I am not insured for (ie. they do not pay) for my speeding fines but that didn't wash with them. There are alot of reprocussions of losing your licence. Not a path you want to travel.

People break the law, get caught and then moan about the punishment. Newtons law (no pun intended) "for every action there is a reaction". If your unhappy with the reaction don't do it in the first place.

Fully understanding the punishment, and realising the consequences, just enforces my desire to keep obeying the law (despite temptation)....

I think you will find that Newtons law goes more like this:

For every action there is a EQUAL AND OPPOSITE reaction"

There are some laws that are stupid by definition and some that just dont make sense. That is why the laws keep changing. New ones being made, old ones being abolished or altered.

I see where you are trying to go with this but maintaining the "put up and shut up" mentality is not part of a working society.

ps. driving and driving is bad.

pps . Speeding and demerit points are stupid.

They tripled my excess..8 years car/bike no claims and first set of convictions ever in 27 years and have been here 8....excess should reflect accidents / claims and normally the premium is increase to reflect licence convictions but this seems to have changed.......still premium did not go up so no xtra cost unless you have a fault claim so not as bad as it seems

Basically, if you do something wrong you drop trousers, bend over and TAKE it...:gob:
Not the ideal situation to be in, but have to do all you can not to get into the situation in the first place.

Yeah, here in the Northern Territory the speed limit will be 130 from next year, no demerit points!
Have to get the speed fix now till 2007, then down the pipe!

Have a good weekend
