Nah Col', you got it all wrong. A Lasagne Square and Chips, with Worcester Sauce, commonly known as 'Black Sauce' in our household.
And no Julie, I'm not a fish person. I'm allergic to anything out of the sea. Quite handy too, 'cause I don't even like seafood either.

Im a fish person!
Have a community tank with plants and CO2 injection system etc.
How many litres is the tanks? ALWAYS put your tank across several floor joists as opposed to along one!
I made my own stand and forgot to put in diaganal supports... result? tank on slight lean, then bigger lean... then split tank and flooded lounge! woops!
that was a few years ago though :innocent: older and wiser now ;)
If you ever need any fish related advice... PM me  Been keeping all sorts of diferent setups for years ay, thinking of a rebuild and setting up another Malawai tank, their lots of fun :P

Talk to a builder about installing extra supports for your floors.
My fathers tank is so big, it weighs over a ton! these poorly constructed 'paper mache' NZ houses just cant take the strain!
...was never a problem in UK with 'proper' brick houses and 4 foot deep solid concrete foundations :innocent:
but again, look under your floor and make sure your tank goes accros several floor joists instead of running along one, and i found a good 3 inches away from the wall, as after time it can crack the join from wall to floor and water can enter... causes all sorts of problems!

I've put extra piles under my house when I had the 1000 litres on a wooden floor.
Estimated weight was around 1.5-1.7 ton, 350kilos of glass, 1 ton of water, plus gravel etc etc
eight piles under the floor sorted me out tho'
get your self a bottle jack, crawl under the house, jack house up, use wedges to hold piles in place, the drop the house down
