Hey guys, thought id quickly throw what im doing up here, just incase others wanted to come say ello!

at 9:45am i will be at Papakura BP fueling my bike and checking the tyres.

10AM SHARP is time to head out and do the hunua loop clockwise.

that is most likley all the riding i will do then head home as i have a pillion. there is some interest in carrying on toways waihi etc but unfortunatly i cant make that... so yeah, not a "slow" ride for newbies! so if you are new to biking etc and did want to come along anyways,- hmm just rethinking here- actually yeah... if you are worried and dont know the way + would like me to keep you in my mirrors or follow you mostly just say so! im out for a cruise.

Sadly like FF I can't make it tomorrow: Mrs MikeL and eldest son are flying out to SF tomorrow afternoon and I have PROMISED not to go riding coz I have to take them to the airport and if I had a bin and killed myself it might put a bit of a damper on their holiday...
Of course you understand that it took a lot of persuasion on their part to make me agree to this, and I have made it quite clear that this is not to be construed as any sort of precedent for the future...
Hope you all have an awesome day!

MikeL

FF's "slight breeze" at 8 this morning has turned into a blustery gale. Went for a short ride on the 400 and got blown all over the place. Hope it's not any worse down where you guys are going. That straight stretch into Kopu gets a lot of wind...

Two Smoker
18th July 2004, 17:51
Well it was a good day, a few people turned up, and that certain gale didnt stop and extremely fast person pulling alot of stand up wheelies  aye Death hehehe....

ON the way to Kawakawa Bay i had a good ride, and was semi keeping with Death and MR (by keeping they were only like 200-300 metres infront and staying there...) but i had a small scare later on so i backed off a bit, also the hole in my leathers where my slider is was getting bigger

Great day, with some awesome riders, Draco was putting down a pretty fast pace today too.....

Death, im still speechless from the awesome show you gave on the bike hehehe...

erik
18th July 2004, 19:48
Thanks for another great ride. I'm so knackered after it though, I got home and slept for a couple of hours and still feeling stuffed. But it was fun :2thumbsup: I managed to keep up with the people at the back of the ride most of the way to kawakawa bay, and then on Old North road too. Hmm, maybe Shade's right and I am improving :)
I can't wait to get a faster bike so I can keep up on the straights though, and one that doesn't scrape the pegs so easily. 12 months to go...

Kwaka-Kid
18th July 2004, 20:16
erik you have definatly improved mate! that is for sure. we were all holding a pretty nice pace through Old North - and shit me wonko! Awesome for a clapped out (hope you dont mind me saynig this) old gpz600! shit if you have a modern bike etc matey youd be streets ahead of us. - but jsut take it easy on them tyres/surfaces, you did a nice display of a 90degree rear wheel hangout/drift for me but i wont ask for you to try it again :)
all in all a fine weekends riding for me! Great day. Was good to take a passanger - used to heaps, but first time in months, and man does that poor 400 need a caining to even try and hold the back, or maybe its just me.
Hope you all enjoyed it and didnt mind too much waiting for the wee viffer. -though next time i go 2up i might just bring the old GS1000

Milky
18th July 2004, 20:23
that's for sure KK... the front end on mine gets awfully light with an ass on the back. I am sure it makes for easier wheelies though :niceone: Keep in mind that the fastest people often need to be at the back to keep up - it is amazing how hard you have to push even if the first guy in 10~20 is going 110-130, what with passing opportunities and so on...

Kwaka-Kid
18th July 2004, 20:47
its okay milky! you dont need to make excuses mate! Ask sarah, she said she was bored on the back and falling asleep the whole time, that mite explain why when braking she sure didnt do me or my personal belongings any good! :( Painful.

And Milky, People were expecting you matey! You and that green machine were wanted at the ride! Where you been brother?!

Two Smoker
18th July 2004, 20:54
Milky was too Lazy, but i did drag him out for a blat up Old North road with FzerozeroT in the arvo....

Milky
18th July 2004, 21:24
wanted?? expected?? what could I possibly contribute to such an outing?

Milky
18th July 2004, 21:31
I notice you have only one more post till 1000 is up TS.. congrats on the time that it does click over, and remember you only joined a a day earlier than me... methinks someone has too much time on their hands :msn-wink: I think you should know by now that I am inherently lazy :niceone: and there is little you can do about it... That ride with f00t wasnt too bad, even if you did leave me behind for alot of the way...

A little incident happend when I was filling up on the ride too.. Someone had put the little clip on the 'throttle' for the pump, so when I removed it from the rest, it decided to spray fuel all over the bike and forecourt... I remedied that after about $3 worth of gas went astray, but the thing that had me confused was the lady wanted me to pay for the fuel which never entered my tank  I sorted her out in the end though :niceone:

Excellent day, great to go for a long blat.
Thought my (not so) clapped out bike was doing good following Death off from a start, untill he mono'd away from me.

Out on Old North was a blast, a little more length in the striaght's and I would have had you all, bar Chris. Thanks for the kind words man, they let me know that what I'm doing out there is right. And Erik, tha Zeal of yours looke d good going into some of those courners

Must sleep now,
