Maybe I should've put this in the Jokes and Humour section. OK so it's quiet at work and I was scanning trademe when I came across this (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-79117047.htm) weapon! 140bhp (approx) from a paintjob and blueprint! Guy is a dreamer.

That looks like a large flat area in the centre. Is this off of "The Flinstones"... their tyres were the same shape!

i saw a ZX636 on eBay that was claiming to be putting out something stupid like 156hp.. and had been tarted up for a show - with tyre shine right across the tyres.. nob

It used to belong to Ricky Mckay (KB Member) was a Corona replica Ricky painted up after a minor spill.
He did a few trackdays/clubmans I think, Ricky rode it hard and wouldn't have had that amount of chicken strip on them.....
Lots of nice goodies on it, but no way its 140hp.

Fella would have got more positive interest if he'd gone and got someone who knows about bikes to write the description. Now the poor sod is gonna have loads of KBers laughing down the 'phone at him.
Not saying I know shit but I would at least have got someoune who did.

As far as I know it has higher compression and a Yoshi full system......doesn't add up to 140hp!!!! Supersport bikes of the era would be hard pressed to get that!

Maybe he's on about HP at the crank? Which seems to be what counts according to all the bike manufacturers
bistard

Yeah 140hp is a joke, the 05 ZX6RR we raced last year with all the fruit ,legal in proddy racing & was one of the faster bikes at the nationals last year, still only had just over120hp at the back wheel

Despite his outrageous HP claims it's still a pretty tasty looking machine. Still, since when were most people on tardme as well educated and thoughtful as most KB members? :dodge:

my bike topped out at 287kph at the red line, on the back of puke. And that 287 was 'indicated', so not actual.. 300kph is for the big boys only.. unless it's had it's gearing played with, but then it'd need a longer run up than Puke's straight, and a air-tow behind a thou

Are you sure? The question mark suggests not. 300km/h is a decent go for a std thou, let alone a 600 with blueprinted engine, high comp, and yoshi system.

Well, I guess we should be understanding,eh? I've had a couple people "who know about this... !" tell me in all sincerity and earnestness that the cops have standard looking Commodores that will do 300km/h!
Getting hard to find a bike or car that won't do 300, these days...
My 'F' is geared to do 220 at the red-line and I've not been there to prove it yet. But it's "very fast for a 600", too...:gob: Would love to feel the difference between my 80hp at the crank compared to a modern 600's 120 or so.

Wonder what the dyno reading will say...
Im sure its pretty quick anywayz.. tidy bike
SimJen
30th November 2006, 19:32
For sure its a mint bike, lots of good bits on it although he obviously doesn't know how to list it. From what I can tell it has a 520 chain/sprockets conversion, frame sliders, Full yoshi system, Possibly a fork kit and braided lines etc.
Wether its worth $10800 is debateable, as you could buy a K1/K2 Thou for that and kick its 140hp!!!!! in the weeds ;)
I bet the dyno reading will never show though....it'll be a lot less than he expects.

hmm, they were going for a bout $11k this time last year, would have expected the price to drop a bit, but that it is a unique paintjob, and im sure that if he holds out someone will be stupid enough to pay that price.

Fixed up after a slight spill. Check out the photos.
My mate bought it off Rick McKay at the end of last year and my flat mate got hit by a car on it. Insurance company wrote it off. If anyones interested he still has the dyno print out for it and a list of the fruits that it had when Rick sold it.

Most of the damage looks superficial, what sort of quotes were given to fix it?
Looks like the guy has done a decent job of tidying it up. I know I'd want full payout in an accident like that, but insurance companies aren't known for taking the expensive option.

Think hes still looking for the print out. he thought he still had it when I showed him the thread the other night.
Was quoted 20K worth of damage. From Road and Sport. Not to sure how stoked he would be if i put the whole to be fixed list on here but i'll ask him. It includes Main frame and swing arm. In reality how damaged they were i'm not entirly sure. It would have taken a bit of a beating in how the car hit the bike. If i remeber rightly it did look a bit skewif. I'm sure if you were to fix it your self it wouldnt come to that.

:gob: 140hp?? Man he must've done some serious motor work since I owned this bike! :)
If i remember rightly on the Road and Sport Dyno it had 98.6HP at the rear wheel. I only fitted a full Yoshi Tri Oval system and K&N filter, it wasn't much quicker than a standard one....
300km? The 520 kit had smaller front sprocket so the speedo would read higher than actual, but still I don't think it showed over 280km on it...
I'm surprised to see it still on the road after that accident, he's done an alright job but left alot of the stickers off the front (it looks plain). The kit was a copy of the 2005 Suzuki Moto GP bikes at Laguna Seca (Mitsubishi was one of their sponsors).
