Hi everyone,

My GSXR 250 is in need of some new forks, and I'm having trouble sourcing second hand forks from wreckers etc. Am wondering if forks off an RGV(earlier model I think with the non-USD forks) will fit and work? From the pictures they look similiar but would like to hear from people who know about these sort of things.

Are there any other model bikes which have the same forks?

Cheers,

Stefan

i think the main thing with matching up non-standard forks is to do with the bearings the head stock will accept. I remember being told an fxr150 can take the front end from a GSXR1100 or similar because they ran the same head beraings, i'm sure it can be done.

If the fork tube Diameter is the same, just run the standard Tripple clamps, with the RGV forks.

I would be suprised if suzuki made them two different sizes.

and also run the RGV wheel (has a twin disk set up) I assume the GSXR has a single?

most suzi front ends are changeable , they only use 2 types of bearing tapered roller is in most, but ball s are in tlr1000r , you may need to change sterring stems for the correct spacings , eg my profile pict has a GS500 front end in it ,with old kat stem in , and one ove my other kats hade a 2002 gsxr front in it, hope this helps  :scooter:

What year GSXR250 do you need a front end for, and how much are you willing to pay?

Wouldn't the front wheel be wider than the back?

It's a 1990 model, as for how much money, depends on whats up for grabs! All I need is is the forks, or even the stanchions, the rest of the front end is fine.

GSXR400 forks are the same I think, for my 250 anyway. I brought some new front brake calipers for my gsxr250 from a 400 and they fit.
