It is at the Southern end of Grey St, before you turn left on to the main drag to go out of town. It down by the Naylor and Brookfield St end, Cobham Drive end. You can only turn left out of and left into Grey St from Cobham Drive.
Hope this helps.

I'm just waiting on my boss to come in to confirm if I can get tomorrow off... shouldn't be a problem I don't think as its my birthday so he will most likely say yes...
CaN Sam is also checking with her work if she can get the day off to come along too, if so can she take your pillion seat?
I'll confirm these details asap. Also... if any of the Shore riders would like to meet on the Shore somewhere as I don't know how to get to the autobhan thingy...

The traffic south from town should be ok once you get past the central city.
I will be at the Autobahn around 8:00am but could wait around, its only a 100kms from there to Hamilton.
A few years since i lived in Hamilton (and someone can correct me)... An easy route would be straight down the main street, turn left and go over the bridge,up to the next main set of lights, turn right (which should be the main street in Hamilton East)....that road should be Grey St going through to Cobham Drive ? as per MT's map.

I really wanted to go to darryls sendoff.
I met him at both of the rallies that quasi organised. A very kewl guy and on both rides I always seemed to end up riding with him within the group as we chased quasi or at the last rally whitetrash.
Just for the record the the feijoa vodka pool incident at the tookaanu rally was entirely his fault I only supplied the vodka.
Please pass on my condolences to his family and friends.

You cats going to BP at Onewa, 0615-30 is way too early, keep your sleep. 0700 is plenty of time trust me, I ride the southern each day for work (southbound) and the traffic will only be dodgy up to Gillies ave at the worst, then it is 30 minutes to Auotbahn from there.
So anyway me and Buggie are leaving Barrys point rd at 0700hrs for any peeps who dont want to go at 0615.
Okay guys, I am going to take Speedie's advice. Let's meet at the BP at 6:30 to 6:45 and meet Speedie and co at Barry's Point Road. Where on Barry's point you meeting Speedie?

I'll be doing the same to a black shirt of mine... any suggestions as to what sizes to cut them into... I'll only need 2 (Sam & myself) so that least 3/4 of the shirt for others...

No worries!!! They are just strips about 6-7cm wide that you can just tie around your arm. I am sure they'll be fine.

Spot on.
For those that need food there's a McDonalds right next to the Eastside where we're meeting. There's also multiple cafes & bakeries within 100m. You definitely will have time to grab some food before the escort ride as we're not 100% certain of the exact timing yet and allowed a safety margin in the meeting time. It's not huge but is enough if you're there on time.

FYI for DSS3's funeral tomorrow
DSS3 funeral ride
A group of close friends on motorbikes will lead the herse, followed by the immediate family and then the majority of the bikes.
It has been requested that we all park in formation at the entrance to the Chapel at the Crematorium. They would like to see a V formation if possible.
It has also been requested that at the end of the service we all start our bikes up and make them roar for a few seconds. Watch for Quasievil or Mental-Trousers to signal this.

It's quite a surreal experience sitting out here offshore. The sheer physical distance acts as an insulator, the daily routine can be mind numbing with the days blurring into each other, and your world shrinks down to an area the size of a 1/2 acre section.
Today has been quite different, with my thoughts well and truly with Darryl and his loved ones.
My full respect goes to all those with the courage to front up to the funeral, it's not an easy thing to do.

It was a huge funeral.. Biggest funeral I've ever been too bar the maori queens. The chapel was packed, the atrium was packed, and their were still dozens of us outside listening to the speakers.
I think the share number of people that came is a tribute to Daryl.

Just got back.
Was a very nice ceremony. The bikes leading and following the hearse passing thru Hamilton was nice. They were all meant to line up so the hearse could drive up the centre as we revved, but in the faffle of parking, the hearse passed thru. So we did it anyway. 30 seconds of a hundred+ bikes at the redline in honour. Was a very loud moment, and I'm sure he heard it.
I'm fortunate enough for this to only be my second funeral (the first being my nan years ago). So as far as they go, it was a nice sending off. Huge turn out from every corner of his life and from people who he'd touched. He'll be remember for ever.
Thanks to Daryl's family for allowing us to join in celebrating him. And thanks to Quasi for organising chaos!

Awesome everyone. What a real tribute to Daryl. The sound of all the bikes revving was just amazing!!!! He would have been smiling. It really is a small world though as Rhino and I know the sister of his cousin that spoke. I am glad I was able to go and pay my respects.

Just got back from Hamilton, the organisation and provision of info was courtesy of Quasi (thanks) and the forethought of having additional black ribbon is commendable.
The turnout of bikes and their riders/pillions was humbling to me, a community able to make the time and effort to support their fallen moved me deeply. The tributes and stories shared in the service kept making connections with points in my life and others present.
The redline send-off was another unique moment for me, I honestly hope we don't have to use it for that purpose for a long, long while - if ever... the refreshment provided was awesome and just looking and listening to the people around gave me another insight to the spirit and camaraderie, KBers have for one another - sure we give each other stick, sometimes grief, but when the chips count - there are people always there.
This morning, before I left Auckland, it was dark and cloudy - but surprisingly I saw a beautiful rainbow shine through it, I couldn't help but think how fitting a metaphor that was for the service today. Of course, the lads conspired to ensure that today was a perfect riding day.
So, in honour - a few of the lads went out and found the twisties in the Hunuas on the way back. We took our time, not in any rush and pootled around the brilliant countryside - our pegs down, I hope the recently departed took the chance to touch down on our rides and guide us through a little more smoothly and crack a grin as we wound our way through Twilight Rd (how appropriate is that?)
It has been a honour and pleasure to grace the company of giants, to mark the passing of those who share our spirit to ride in freedom and remember them for the good times they had...

I was in Hamilton today for work.
Was waiting at the end of London St, to turn onto Victoria, when I spied a gaggle of bikers heading south... as they passed, I saw a couple or three KB patches.
I caught up with them at the next lights, and pulled up along. Drooled over a few bikes and thought about saying something. However, the entire pack were all fixed on the red light, no jocularity, no banter being swapped, just a team of friends waiting in a sullen mood to arrive for a farewell.
If any of you saw me in my van with "Recall" on the side perving at your bike, sorry if you felt it move, that was just me throwing condolences on your pillion spot to drop off to the family for me...
Cheers.
