i decided i was having my mid life crises

I was in the same place about 4 years ago, started on a GN, cos' wanted a spankin' new bike and it was a spankin' price, it wasnt long till i was looking for a bigger bike. Always rides happening Minnie, just keep an eye for them in the Meetings/Events Forum, there's a 250 ride every other weekend, run by Maverick, you can view the thread by clicking on Forums and scrolling down to club 250 (i think)....welcome to KB...

I know them both and they're both deserving of their respective names. I'd hate to be VERY drunk in their presence... I reckon there'd be shaved eyebrows, green hair and all manner of "changes" made to one's person during those hours of unconsciousness.

Lovely people though.

Hey hey Minnie! Welcome aboard!

I have a question for you; Why do people pronounce Waiuku without the last U (ie. Waiuk)? Is it laziness? is there a silent U in the maori language? Or is something more sinister going on out there........?

Ixion
8th December 2006, 10:47
Cos that's how it's pronou8nced. My Great great grandmother pronounced it taht way and thats a good many years ago. So it's always been that way. Why - uk (rhymes with chook)

You watchin' the x-files again? My home area (Kaukapakapa) is generally pronounced "cow-coppa-coppa"... not even close to the proper version, but all the locals call it that or is often called "cow-cop".

Hi Minnie,
Welcome to two wheels! How old are your girls? I've got kids too, 2 wee fella's (1yr old and 2 & 3/4 yrs old) and had a turning 30 crisis, love my RG150! Pretty liberating getting a motorbike. I'm an L also, if you're up for a girls ride sometime pm me (I'm in Botany Downs).

Hope to see you on the next newbie run on the 16th of December, hopefully we can get babysitters. It was my first KB run on the 3rd of December.

Ride safe and hope to see you out there!

Hi there, Congrats on yer bike. Take Vixter up on her offer - she's a good lass and a great rider too - In fact there's no reason why you fellas shouldn't meet up with Chickadee (my wife) as well. Chickadee could ride to Vixter's house and then they could come out and meet you - it's a nice ride up to the lighthouse at Manukau heads and back.

that would be great, someone said the 250ride is heading this way on the 16th but cant make it , daughters birthday, but hope to make the next one if it isnt too far away for me to ride there.

Have just been out for a practise, clocked up another 50 km or so , makes about 130kms for the last three days, practised quick stops, parking in town, and hill starts using front brake, instead of back brake. stalled once as i was trying to exit quickly from an intersection, had in wrong gear....oops.

have a great day all and ride safe:scooter:

Hi Terbang, yes its a bit hard case isnt it, never know who you will meet, i think poor Ashleigh might have got a bit of a shock to see me in my bike gears and not usual PTA school form, ha ha ha. shame i didnt get to meet you yet, but now doubt i will, and your mate Blair gave me a few skills to work on so that was really neat. yep would love to do some south westie rides , might need to work on my fear of having cars on the rd with me though before i head too far..............
ride safe.
