bummer DD

Be patient with the thumb thing, I damaged mine a little while ago and it still gets a bit stiff when I ride for a distance....
The doctor recommended not riding for a small while and in the end I found that I had to follow the advice to heal it up....

Dont worry about fixing the cosmetics, as you are still learning. As long as you fix the structural part of the bike then it's ok.

I mean look at my fairings...missing parts, cracked, scratched. But mechanicially it's sweet as :Punk:

Best thing you did was get back on and ride. You were lucky it was just your thumb you damaged and not the rest of your body.

Good luck on the healing process for both your bike and thumb *hugz*

Bugger matey
I was going to cruise along last night... however my car had diff ideas n I blew something up in the engine on the way home from work DOH!!
went home on a tow truck, fingers crossed it wasnt the turbo that blew. Put car straight in the drive, gave her a dirty look, then got my bike out n went for a ride.

Hope your thumb feels better soon. Glad to hear your alright.
The ol zzr is pretty tough aye!! I was surprised at how lightly I got off in regards to damage when I binned.

Im sure you'll have her all lovely in no time :)

Yeah yeah I discovered the laws of gravity and where the point of no return is for bike lean..........whilst stationary

Was on the Thursday night ride, lost track of the others in Albany so pulled in to a bus bay. Was twisted around looking down the road. not a strong position to be in, didnt have the best footing in the channel. Felt the bike lean over a touch and then I was just along for the ride.

Did a slow-mo roll to the ground with the bike, I sufficed as adequate cushioning for the fairings and the only damage is what would amount to a small stone chip in the paint :)

Annoyed that it doesn't count as a first drop..........now still have that to look forward to :(

I sorta binned it on Monday, whilst being A Dick. The first "incident" for the VFR since I bought in 25 munce ago.
Not too bad - ended up with minor scrapes on the left lower fairing panel, a bent clutch lever (fixed with hot-air gun + force), slightly bent gear lever (air, force, fixed), and some grass and mud here'n'there (washed/wiped off). Helmet has scraped visor and vent, from a faceplant I did on the footpath as the bike stopped and I continued for a few milliseconds. I thought I was totally unscathed (hate those scathes!) but I had a mildly sprained left wrist, and a couple of previously unnoticed bruises on my arms have become noticeable now they've gone yellow...

I HATE going down! (On the bike, that is...)

The moral is: Don't Be A Dick.

Well why we r on the topic of bins on the ATNR last night, I almost binned on the way home.

Heading home towards the city. When I when going around the Greville Rd round-about / mway onramp heading towards the city, I had a major front & rear wheel slide. It was all over before I could even think. Would have been a low side.

I took the Riverhead - Coatesville road home after the ride, and there was new (and very loose) seal all along it, almost every corner the rear wheel had a mind of its own... Good practice though!

I dont think any bin is funny.

I hear ya, but as far as they go - this was nearly ideal. Run off onto grass, no major injuries and enough of a fright to learn a lesson...

Hey DD, unbolt those bits and take them to a boat builder or an outfit that makes bullbars. Ali welding will be a piece of P for them. There are quite a few out west (ironically about 5 km from where you decided to rearrange the bike).

Ditto - hunt me down after the next ride - we can go for a blast down there together. Was a good ride except for one corner with new seal ride right on the apex. About 2 km short of Kumeu from memory...

Awww shit. Here's me trying to give him a bad reputation and you go and say something like that.

Course he welded it up - he's old, rides like a nana and is desperate for friends. I only hand around him because he leaks money like an arsehole full of vindaloo...
