Who's tried them? The link from the South M/way to Parnell has some niiice sweepers in it.
Enjoy it before the cagers wake up to the fact they're there. (Or the cops set up a laser gun)

Havn't riden them but got changed on one and got to roll down the middle of the Northen MWay. One of them has a big new expansion joint in it. Not too slippery but still a little.

The new on ramp going from the North Western to the Northern has those stupid bloody trafic lights on it like at the mangere bridge on ramp.

gee thats a good idea ..... lets take a motorway and link it directly to another one ..... but lets put traffice lights in the middle so the traffic has to come to a complete stop first.

Yep, Transit are planning these for ALL on-ramps on Aucklands motorways. Expect them at an on-ramp near you by the end of next year.

There argument is that it keeps the motorway flowing. What it will do is clog up feeder roads (eg Gt Sth Road in Greenlane) and penalise those living closer to the city.

No doubt transit have a kpi about how long it takes to travel from point a to point b. And they have no responsibility for what happens off the motorways.

I've used the SH1 (northern) to SH16 (NWestern) link a couple of times now. That isn't too bad, but not the best. And the 'tunnel' that the southern now takes (just after the new NW link is) is too short imo.

The rest of the links are due to open this week.

the lights aren't too much of a bad idea imo, as long as people abide them, then it'll work. The concept is just to space cars out that are joining, aren't they? so they flash red green red green etc every 2 seconds.. And they'll only be on at rush hour.. so i'll never get to see them working

Um, doesn't the calendar say 7:30?

WTF. yes it does. But when I go to 'Edit' to change it, the time selector thing shows 18:30. I've set the time to 17:30 so it shows 18:30 on the calendar. It doesn't appear to be taking account of daylight savings.

Stupid thing.

It's definately 6:30, 18:30 hours, half past six.
