If someone has there beady little peepers on your bike, you aren't going to stop them anyway.

Even disk locks which you can't get bolt cutter on to aren't foolproof. Mine has an audible alarm which goes off as soon as the bike is moved but when six burly men are carrying the bike onto the back of a truck, do you take them on or phone the cops and wait the three hours it takes them to arrive?

When someone wants something badly enough and they are part of an organised group, nothing will stop them. Not if but when.

So I think the moral of the story is park your bike on a slippery floor so they can't bounce on a set of croppers.:sunny:

A bike no one would want to steal? Well K1s are getting pretty rare so the later CBs will soon. But a friend had a rover 2000 stolen so ask yourself this question. Is my bike more or less desirable that one of those. The sad part of the story is he got it back.

I agree with you on that one. I hate people who steal, especially when its someones prized possesion (sp) Kind of a sad world we live in.
That is also quite scary to see those 'secure' locks not doing their job. I need to get a decent one for my bike

When I was a young fellow, one of my mates had a Triumph Bonneville 650 which all the gang members wanted back then.

He chained it to a steel post set in concrete in the middle of the garage floor, barred all the windos and the door and always slept with it and had a rather nasty Dobberman in the garage with him too.

As someone who rode British bikes in the ''Bikie Gang'' era where bike theft was rife - you have to be proactive.No one in your area should know you own a bike,be descrete.No bike is ever visable on my property,I am in and out of my street quickly and quietly.A mate of mine used to load his Harley into his van and drive to someone elses place,unload in their shed and then go for a ride.Extreme sure,but he kept his bike.Advertise your bike as available for theft and they will form a queue to get to it.
