Ummm, you can't practice track lines unless you're on a ...ummmm.... track? Any efforts to do otherwise will be useless or wind you up in a box.

ditto.. really wouldn't..
go ride with someone, for sure. someone who knows something, even better ;)
I've helped a couple of people with lines (mostly newbs, cos I'm always learning myself), and I've found the best way to learn; is off the bike.. but can't revile all my secrets.. Just take care. The road ain't the race track. And there's really nothing to practice for. The idea of track days, is so you're practicing off the road in a safe place. All the people around you will most likely be in the same boat, or one near you

hahaha, practice racing lines on a public road coming towards dusk with newbie's.
Who's totally fantastic, well though out, completely flawless idea was that?

Phewwyy....

Perhaps we have a certain amount of miscommunication here.

We aren't practicing racing lines or anything that isn't allowed on public roads. We’re just going for a relaxed ride to practice riding in general, get some general ride time in and organise our schedules for the 22nd.

I don't really want too many people turning up and would prefer fewer riders to keep things simple.

Postie, Buggy and Thrashy - Cheers for your concern guys and thanks for thinking of our best interests, don't worry it's all good.

Kind regards,
JSG

lol - I see this thread stayed on topic really well....

I am glad that few people are taking this "topic" seriously. How ever JSG and Sallo have proposed it to be, it sounds like a stupid idea to be practising lines for a track, on the road at dusk.
I've been to enough funerals lately to be wanting to here of a date for another one.

JSG/sallo, if you are just going for a ride, say so. Don't try to be cool by announcing that your practicing lines etc in prep for a track. If thats the case then you will be shooting for apex's and crossing the centre line on every corner, what do you have dummy grid painted on the road, some flag marshals and start finish straight?????

13th December 2006, 22:47
Thanks for the company Sal, you did exceptionally well on roads you didn't know, see you around.

----------------------

No one won.

It was a simple cruise.

I'm quite dissappointed in a lot of you, especially you Postie - always thought you were a gentleman.

There's a better way to treat newbies or people who don't live on KB and may not know how politically correct some of you fools demand people behave.

He was quite rough with me... but that was a magical night...

it took me a couple of minutes to decide if I was gonna waste anymore time here, and it appears that I will.
Sallo, I see you changed the first post to what it should have been so thats fine, although you are unable to change the thread title. You asked if it was concern that expressed........ you said you were practicing racing lines on the road with JSG, so yes it was concern.

JSG if you disagree with somthing I say, red rep me or PM me, don't waste your green points. If I piss you off then just say so, I think I'll survive.
What worries me, is JSG taking out newbies to learn the road, they are on smaller slower bikes and your on a 636 with much more power and far better brakes, plus your no teacher and your not slow. If you rode your normal way then the chances are high that one of the bikes following could make a mistake.
You might have adapted your riding style in recent times, if you have then you have made it a well kept secret.
Obviously it went well last night so thats great, I'm glad you had a good ride. It may be wise to choice your words with more care in future to save another one of these threads.

Weasel, what did I tell you??? if your gonna keep shouting off about our private time in public, it won't happen again....... last chance biatch.
