Ok well i transform myself into a bit of a country lad over the summer holidays these days.

I just thought id share a few of my fun experiences on the 2 tractors we have

Tractor 1 is a 2wd 40hp Iseki, we just use this for a bit of slashing
Tractor 2 is an 80HP 4wd KUBOTA Complete with loader and a berti 2.2 mulcher

Ok now as most of you farmers out there will know, 2wd tractors do mean wheelies!! With a solid top link on the Slasher its heavy enuf to set the rear hydraulics at the right height pop the clutch and it sits all the way back on the slasher. ONe can then proceed to mow whole paddocks like this on 2 wheels using the wheel brakes for steering!! makes a booring job fun lol

Now just last night i had my first real fun with the 4wd. We were clearing a blockage from our river (some pretty big trees) and had a snip chain on the front forks for pulling off.

With the dractor in diff lock and 4wd and the loader up a bit, i was able to do what looked like a bit of a mono on it. By this i mean i had the whole tractor balenced on the front right wheel!!! i thought that was impressive if not a little scarry at the same time.!!

im sure theres a few farmers / bikers out there who get up so simmilar mischef on there workhorses, how about it?

I did a really serious out of control wheelie on an old Nuffield once - it had a vertical hand throttle that pushed forward for fast.I went 1st,2nd and found 3rd was the road gear about 4 steps up - the governor slammed the throttle wide open,and even with wheel weights she was in the air! It was half a turn of the wheel lock to lock and the wheels were coming down and launching skywards again...each time in a different direction! I was really,really,really out of control,this was escalating into a huge mess.I was used to a hand throttle under the steering wheel which you pull back to increase speed,push forward to slow down.So with one hand I was pushing the hand throttle hard forward,and with the other slamming the wheels lock to lock at the wrong time.Fortunatly a higher entity tapped me on the shoulder and mentioned the throttle went the other way.Luckely no one else saw this spiritual intervention.

Drove a Zetor that would do power floating turns like a trials bike.

Effectively a tank slapper? I haven't actually seen one (let alone suffered one) yet; only read about them, but that sounds like the same principle?

I saw a tractor with a trailer on coming down parnell rise late one night (which was odd enough in itself). As I said to my mates "hey check that out" the brakes locked up and the tractor started fishtailing down the hill ending up with an impressive jack knife of the trailer amongst a lot of squeeling tyres and smoke, once stopped just put it back in gear and kept going. It was so awesome to see and just so random, made us laugh all the way to the next pub.

I used to work on a farm in my hols from university. We had a trick of starting a tractor (old Leyland job) at the top of the field in low 1st, hopping out and running alongside chucking bales up onto the trailer then jumping back in to turn round at the headland.

When I was about 13, a mate and I were traveling up a sealed road to the farm house. Two hairy arsed young fullas on a David Brown 990 is asking for trouble. There was lots of giggling and weaving untill we ended up on two wheels at point of balance (the best feeling on a bike.....not on old brownie). The highjinks stopped pretty quick and very little was said for the rest of the trip. Two very white lads went looking for new skiddies when we got home, nothing more was said about the adventure.
Sitting on a Mudgaurd on the low side when 3 1/2 ton of tractor is on the point of balance probally taught me a very valuable lesson, If you gunna die you need to be in control not sitting on the mudgaurd.
