hahahaha - no fords... I don't get how people hate one or the other. There is a far simpler method of choosing between Ford and Holden - Price, but mainly Specs.
When I bought my car a little while back, I bought it because the rival brand was far behind in terms of technology (and also design). Now, that rival brand has a new range out which quite possibly would make me choose differently if I were buying now. In the same way, the rival currently behind will release a new range in the near future which will tip the scales again. See where I'm going. Base what you buy on what is available, and I don't only refer to new cars.
If you're buying (for example) a V8 for between $8000 and $12000, and in the year range of 1997 to 2000, weigh up the specs on the options you have and choose accordingly. Don't dismiss a make simply because of a name.
If you're looking for Holdens (or anything but fords) because you've already done this, and found Fords in your criteria are lacking, then ignore everything I've written :zzzz:

VK SS's rock, love the old school thing. Don't care much for the Ford/Holden argument (as a friend puts it, 'different bucket, same shit') as they each have made some great cars and equally made some shite cars. At a yard I once worked at we specialised in both and had a number of the performance models. My fav's included a 240kw (rear wheel) VK SS Brock and the Walkinshaw VL.

What he says.
It's all personal choice - I like ford but would have a Cadillac, Buick or any other make/model that took my fancy.
Brand loyalty with disregard to price, quality, need and other practical considerations is not wise.
Ford VS Holden VS Chev etc makes as much sense as Kawasaki VS Yamaha VS Suzuki - and there's a shitload out there that are narrow-minded enough to believe 'their' brand is 'best'.

Just remember parts availablity when looking at the 'non-mainstream' examples posted above:yes:
Fords/Chevs/Holdens are not so dramatic when it comes to replacing or repairing.

FORDS SUCK!!!!
I own a Ford, a '77 XC Falcon Custom. Basic XC Falcon 500 body and interior with Fairmont Grill and headlight, XC Fairmont 4.1 ltr high compression six with borg/warner auto. It's OK for "going A to B".
Howver, if I want another V8, I'll buy another Chrysler, probably a Valiant Regal 770 as it had the same MOPAR 360 small block as the Dodge Monaco I used to own in NZ. (Pic is from the US)
