Hey all..

I am looking at selling or swapping my RGV250. Being 6ft4 it is killing my lower back. I would love a Hyosung Comet 250 (:dodge: :dodge:) or something along those lines. Might even be interested in a DR or some offroader road rego'd.

Right, the specs are as follows;

1988 Suzuki RGV250
V-twin 2 Stroke 250cc engine.
New WOF.
Will have 6 month REGO on Monday.
Brand new spark plugs (done 5 mins running).
Brand new gearbox oil (did that 5 mins ago).
Brand new front fork seals (have invoice).
Brand new head bearing (have invoice).
Brand new front brake pads.
Replaced some fuel lines.
Always run on Repsol 2T comp oil and 95 octane petrol. Front tyre is a Pirelli Dragon rear is a Protech :bye:

Bike has covered 57,148kms..in that time the engine has been rebuilt. Paint will need touch ups..bike has been for a slide sometime. All parts from factory are still on the bike..albeit the right hand side handle bar end.

Bike rides real well, bloody fast thing. I would LOVE  to keep it if my back wasnt being a prick. Being 6ft4 isnt nice

If you need photos I will email them to you. Please dont be shy to txt me on 0210372310.

I would like to swap for a Comet, Bandit, ZZR250, GPX250 etc etc etc

EDIT: Not that it means much but the bike comes with factory tool kit, and 2 workshop manuals covering everything from how to start the bike to how to rebuild the engine.

James.

I've got a 88 CBR400RR if you'd like to do a deal with me for that. The only problem is that I've got no licence at the mo so you'd need to come here to check it out. I'm 6 foot, and only get sore legs riding it long distances because of the high rearsets it's got on

I don't really know what its worth. I could send you some pictures and you could put a quote forward.

I've had a 89 CBR400RR before, awesome bike. Real nice to ride...perfect size for me too. However I'm wanting a 250cc because of my licence ...thats right I'm a learner. Is it the one thats smashed up in your avatar? Please send some pictures of it in its current state to Jarmizz@hotmail.com.

I'm also on a Learners licence, hence why I'm walking for 3 months. yes it is the one in my avatar, but i've washed it since then. Here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=815340&postcount=448)'s a photo of the new paint job. I had a minor lowside at Taupo on the track a couple of weeks ago, and broke the windscreen and put a nice big scratch up the left hand side. If you're keen, I can get it repainted easily enough. The motor which is in hit has done 3 race meetings, and maybe 5000 road Kms. I also have a complete spare motor in the garage

I could be interested. How does the motor run, also has the motor been rebuilt 3 meetings ago. Also would the spare motor be included in the trade. If you could send some closer pictures any information that would be helpful to my email please. Also is the bike road ready? I dont want to have to go through a re-vin etc.

The motor which is in it is a minter, it could make more power with a dyno tune, but is good enough to win post classic races. If you want, you're welcome to come and have a look at, and ride it tomorrow, it'd be a good ride up here.the rego has been on hold, all it needs for a WoF is a screen, screen brace to hold the mirrors, and the indicator flasher unit replaced. You'd probably want to throw a set of tyres at it too.
If you want to know more, call me on 021530483 after 9 tomorrow morning

Hey,

I will have to have a think about it, I would still perfer either selling and buying a Comet or Bandit etc or swapping if I find some one out there game enough to ride such a beast.

I will keep you in mind and I am very interested because I do like the CBR400RR. Before I decide to travel to Rotorua I would like to see more pictures.

Cheers.

Yeah I am very interested in the CBR but its the whole licence thing. I really want to ride legal and not have to worry as I have been pulled over on my bikes for licence checks.

Its a good looking bike, paint is a little crap but still shines up ok. Shes a speedie little thing..after reading up on them I knew it was going to be quick but this one pulls from very low revs which was a surprise..the new sparkplugs made such a difference. Also with the new gearbox oil the gear changes are so much smoother. The Address engine is sitting on my work bench, I just rebuilt it with afew little mods :) I got it free so thought I would get it going well.
