Hello people,

I'm working my way down to Feilding this Friday, the longest trip on my GB so far, and I'm looking for some two wheeled accompanists.

I'll be leaving at around 9:00 - 9:30AM from Hamilton.

If anyone is going south this Friday and would like to cruise for a while please PM me your interest and estimated riding schedule.

I'll update until lift off to let people know who's coming from where and when.

warm summer riding regards,

Hi Carl. We (3 bikes and 5 people) are heading South on Sunday. Just heading to Taihape that day and to a 1pm checkin on the 25th at the ferry.
You should have no trouble though, just start early and do it at your own pace :)

Hey Warren,

Thanks for that. I'll look for your VFR on my travels. I certainly will be taking my time.

Happy cruising.

Hey peeps,

Have just confirmed a friend of mine from Waiouru on his two wheels with me until about Mangaweka.

Anyone else except Warren + 2 going between Ham and Taupo, or beyond, that day?

I rode my 250 from Auckland to Palmie North in one day....

Just take it easy and ride at your own pace...
If others join you on the ride, get them to stay at your pace...

There are the usual road works out there.... but nothing major...

When you stop to refuel, take your time wandering in to pay and to get back on your bike.. that gives your butt time to rest up lol. Take the time for a pitstop or grab a feed as well.

Oh and dont be like me and not have anything to drink..
I went from Ak to Bulls without having a drink....

Have a drink, that is important. Yep I learnt my lesson.

Enjoy the ride....... if you should get tired or start to loose concentration....
Pull over and stop and have a wander or a rest on the side of the road.
Park your bike up in a safe spot thou.

Have a good christmas and ride safe.

Thanks Crashe,

I'll be sure to stop and rub my bum and sip a cool refreshing drink from time to time.

For the record I have been motorcycling for a few years off and on, but have only had my GB since February and this will be my longest journey on it since I picked it up from Napier.

It's all part of my "great '06 summer road trip" of which the ride this Friday is the first leg (I'm also going to the Cemetery Circuit, Wanganui on Boxing Day, and heading to Gisborne for the New Year en route to Waihi).

The plan is to keep KiwiBiker's posted before I set off to each new landmark, just in case I can gather the occasional ride with others along the way.

Two weeks of summer riding, "I'm talking 'bout very free and easy".
