Bending back bent brake levers?!!?!?

So, my bike got dropped by one of my mates' brothers on saturday (C##TS!!) and it thankfully only bent the shit out of my clutch level.. I had no choice but to try bend it back but I knew it would break and surly enough it did, so does anyone have any tips on how to bend them back (for future reference), with workshop tools or without??

oh also, anyone selling a cbr clutch lever? :p 1/2 of one sucks.

No ideas about bending it back (though my rear brake bent back ok with a little heat) and don't have any to sell, but after market ones are usually readily available from bike shops or various wreckers (Atomic) quite cheap. $25-35.00 mostly.

I had great success by heating mine up under the grill, using a welding glove to remove from oven, and then hitting with a hammer a little, heating again and repeating process until at the desired straightness

you would have to super heat it with gas and bend it, and even then it will be weak. just get a new one!

Pretty easy with a hairdryer and gentle presure :rockon:

You can do it insitu, just get it nice and warm use a block of wood against the handgrip and presure little by little.:yes:

Dont even bother with the whole heat treatment thing,just buy a new one & get the money off the wankers who dropped your bike!!!

Go to Mitre 10 and spend $30 on a propane torch, you can use it for many other things as well, a great investment.

You'll never need to use the range for spots again either.

Just break it properly the first time. That's what I did, then you have no choice but to get a new one.

I probably wouldn't be surprised, I couldn't live without mine now haha. The cylinders seem to last forever as well.

It's good for a huge range of things, from starting the fire without the need for newspaper, to pest control.
