View Full Version : Attachments & old attachment deletion

Having had a search through site stuff I can't find a solution to a problem

I was going to clean up some old attachments (remove) in my userCP, but only have the option of delete selected on the last 28days worth of attachments.

Is then any way to gain a delete selected to older attachments to clean up space ?

I'm pretty close to max capacity and wanted to get rid of most of the older & larger attachments that I'd posted.

Just go to your posts, find the ones with the attatchments, and delete the attatchments from the post. Easy, but time consuming if doing a lot, and if one has dinosaur internet.

I believe it is the same for posts where by once the post is older than XYZ time it cannot be deleted.

So basically search through old posts and edit attachments through that means.
would be a whole lot simpler to have the delete selected access carry further than the 28day time scale

Correct... so ya rooted

Actually its a good idea to be able to remove old attachments as I often find that I need to post a photo up but as I did that already 2 yrs ago I cant re post it, so it would be good to be able to remove the old pic as at the end of the day whos ever going to see a 2yr old post.

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>posts/attachments are locked after one month. No reason to delete as space is not an issure at this time.

Yeah, I can't post any more attachments 'cause mine are full too and I can't delete any more. Has anyone found a solution to this over the weekend?

No one should have an attachment limit. I will look into it.

Thats why you search for pics already attached if you know they are there and link or embed them.

I must be a fuckin magician as now its twice in this thread I have shown people how to repost images they have posted before.

1. Find a thread you have posted in
2. Click on your name
3. Go to the bottom of the list that pops up, the one that says attachements
4. Or go to your User CP and access them through there but the above method is prettier visually

edit look my first picture :

try it!

and i still dont know why we cant delete older pics if we want to.

it so people searching through older threads dont get the dreaded red cross in a bx thats why we aint meant to be able do what I did in the last post.

And since we have been told its not a storage issue.....

Indeed; how do we get the actual images from the attachment number? I've tried putting in the little `427453' or whatever number in [ATTACH] blocks, but all it does is give me a link to the attachment, not the actual image, or even a thumbnail.

EDIT: ooooh... img (with <<>> thingies) tags... but it's so huge, how do I get nice little thumbnails?

Wrap the img tag for the thumbnail with a link tag to the image.
