Okay, here's what I'm gonna do. I'll take the job. I'll start next Monday and I'll be in around 10 ish to work through what I expect from you. Before I start I must let you know that I don't like getting my hands dirty so you'll have to think about that.

See you Monday and don't be late.

I need a mechanic too, been advertising the last week.

Words in the advert like 'experienced', 'qualified' etc.
Getting heaps of people.......' I worked on my cuzzies cars at home etc etc etc etc'.
One guy could'nt even construct a sentence in an email that was unreadable.
One guy got his missus to phone me as he could'nt be bothered.......

I just cant be fuckin bothered replying to some.......I'm on holiday fuckit!

How I wish that was the case - today I decide whether to take on a Fijian Indian or a Pakastani Indian.I don't think there are any Caucasian mechanics left in Auckland.I only hope than when I am in the employment market myself soon my rarity will be rewarded.Morrinsville.....could be a more interesting comute than SH1 into Auckland....

I rang a guy who was keen or so he seemed after interviewing him, as he had applied twice.
Told him he could have the job.
He was rapt and said he's talk to his missus overnight and ring to confirm it on Saturday.

Still waiting to hear from him.
And if I do..............he's shit out of luck now.

So..........in goes another advert for the job, and no doubt the same weirdos will apply again, and the employment services ring again offering all of these wonderfull foreigners as long as I pay the agency 10% of the prospective employees first year salary as fees.

Ok, so it's now being advertised .....
I await the influx of applications from retards, morons, losers and non-English speaking immigrants with a large bottle of Vodka beside me .....

Exactly. Why don't Kiwi's want to work anymore? Or are they... just not in NZ? Bloody colony.

I'll take the job, however I want you to train me and pay a starting wage of $25 P/H which I will re-negociate at a later stage.

Call me on 0210300202 if you want to refuse this once in a lifetime opportunity, otherwise I will see you on Saturday. I am excited, I know you are as well.

P.S. I will also need Monday - Friday off so that I may run my own business.

P.P.S. Additionally, I will also expect a weekly travel allowance of $100 to cover the cost of commuting from the Hibiscus Coast to Moronslivehere.

P.P.P.S. One last thing, I also expect to be paid under the table, so as to avoid paying tax and having my sickness, disability and un-employment benefit withdrawn by WINZ.

Finally found a mechanic on Friday.
Had pretty well given up, and this bloke walked in at 4pm and said he'd heard we were looking.
He fits all the criteria and more.
Said he'd tried to come in over Xmas but we were closed for holidays.
So all's sweet.

Then yesterday a guy I had tried to employ a year ago when he was thinking of moving back here, but changed his mind, rang me said he was moving back and is there a job still here.
Fuck's sake...........and he's good too.

Might have to accommodate him too when he moves in a few months.

Our local bike shop found itself without any bike mechanic at all a couple of months back. They have now employed a guy who has recently moved from Holland. He doesn't speak english very well, and he trained on Harleys, but other than those two drawbacks, he seems to know his stuff.

Qualified Kiwis are simply leaving the country as they can earn much more in Aussie where tax and the cost of living is cheaper.

I've met plenty of Mechanics in the UK that were envious about me moving to NZ. Then I told them the ratio of earnings to house prices and they just stay put in blighty.

Ask your govt to invest in affordable sustainable housing programmes and you'll get an influx of desirable workers. NZ as it stands is only attractive to the uber rich.

but that's another thread....I for one would love to work in Morrinsville - but I'm a commercial business manager and can only perform basic maintenance on my bike.

Anyone have a commercial venture with $300M annual turnover out in the sticks I can manage for them?

Thought not. I remain city bound.

I didn't say which Eastern Waikato town it was in. Morrinsville is in the middle anyway.
