hi people
i have been offered a swap for my virago with a Kawasaki Eliminator Sports edition 400 ZL 1991

the bike is in gisborne i am unable to check it out my self ( even if i knew what to look for )

so my hand goes up asking for help
what are they like ( i love the virago but lookiing for some thing with a bit more but still in the cruiser type bike ( not looking at sports bike as i a bit of a short ass )

what faults / good points are they known for ?

can any one offer to check it out for me ?

here is the blub the owner sent me

Hi
The Seat Hight Is 705mm The Last owner was a 5 foot female sold due to a
break up with partner.
I'm wanting to swap due to having three learner riders and only one 250cc
bike. The bike goes great could do with having the plugs changed as i
haven't done it yet.
its a Kawasaki Eliminator Sports edition 400 ZL, its a 1991 and has 24710k's
on the clock, reg till 2/07 and wof till the same (2/07) not needing
anything for next wof that i know of. tyres are good etc.
I have a new clutch to go with the bike, (not that it needs it). I ride with a group every second weekend and they all ride 1000cc and over
and i can ride any where front or back of the pack. we do a round trip of
250ks each trip. bike fits in well and turns heads.
it's all stock and is not loud.
if you can't tell i love the bike and will be sorry to see it go, but will
love riding with partner and kids more.
any other question or photo's wanted just ask
Cheers Gary

thanks for reading any input welcome

cheers

Contact BabyB she lives in that area and maybe able to go and check it out for you...

yungatart rides a 250 eliminator bike......
so either her or MSTRS can tell you more about the bikes.

PS: are you taking off the pack rack brackets when you sell the bike?

I have a 250 Eliminator - they are a neat bike...mine is happy to sit at 120 ish on the open road, is super comfortable and, as the guy said, can be a real head turner.
They tend to be a bit clattery when you start them up, but that is just what they do.. it is not an issue.
Go for it, that is low ks and they are a very reliable bike.

We're going through to Gisborne for Xmas, could take a look for you, but are not mechanical type people, could check out general condition and maybe test ride it for you?

Hey Oscar, I previously owned a 250 Eliminator. They are a good example of the quality Kawasaki engineering of the time. The 400 is a shaft drive, I think.

One thing though. Do you think 400cc will be enough of a step up from 250cc? You might be hungering for more in no time. Then again, summers good for cruisin'
