Did you ring any of the gasket manufacturers? Is it possible to make one?

I.e. get an appropriate material and cut, punch/file it to shape?

Without knowing the chassis number, Sportzone in Chch wasn't of any help since they say the year/model details I gave wasn't enough to narrow it down.

Tried Australia?

All TL head gaskets are the same 11141-02F01 (same but F00 for the 97 TLS)

11141-02F01 suits all TL1000S 97/01 and TL1000R 98/03
The only exceptions are the race kit head and base gaskets which are selective fit to suit compression ratio and squish.

Once again i have to bump this thread to try and get some kind of reply.

On two occasions now i have politely asked for this head gasket to be replaced as was promised (Around $60)
The last PM sent was read with no reply,i will take it for granted this person has no intention of doing the right thing after i helped him out with a new part that was not available here at the time (late Dec) except for a back order X Japan.

Since Jas elected to bring this classic zed guy ? into it i will PM him next as it seems he is tied up up with Jas.
Why is it people have all the time in the world when they want something but trying to get it back is a drama.
What the !@#$ happened to integrity

Yes, i saw it on Trade Me.

Mike, it is only a $60 gasket but i need it now and will be a litte pissed if i have to replace it out of my own pocket...Lesson learned perhaps.
I think if i had been unable to find a part in NZ at christmas time, posted on here and got one in under 1 hour i would be a little grateful to say the least.
I would have then back ordered one as a replacement the next day if not the same day.
Apparently Classic Zed was to have sent it prior to the 13th Feb and then i was told it was being sent on the 14th Feb.
It is now 9 weeks total,PM now sent to Classic Zed since the one the other day to Jas was read but ignored.
Once you start doing that sort of BS you know its going to go bad.
I think the folk who have met me know i am fairly approachable, all it would have taken is a 10 second PM if there was a problem.

I can only appologise for the problem, the gasked did indeed turn up in a box while Jas was away, but as it was not addressed to me I didnt open it. I am not in the habit of opening other peoples mail.
Jas thought I had sent it, and as it was initially nothing to do with me I assumed he had dealt with it.

If you were worried about it why did you not just pick up the phone and call him instead of creating bad feeling and stirring things up on this thread, a 30 second phone call would have solved the problem. He gave you his number on the PM's he sent to you.

Some people dont live their lives on here and as such dont often read PM's or indeed the threads

Why on earth would i keep PM's from DECEMBER 2006.
I do not have his phone number.
I do not live on this site either but like you ? (21 minutes to reply) have my PM's received on send a email notification. You could even do it from Australia ;)
It was not up to me to keep in contact over goodwill on my part,as stated i did PM which was read as stated with no reply.
The system even gives the time read,so someone is accessing his account then.
Anyone with even half a brain i think would be concerned with read and ignored so would jump to the obvious conclusion given the length of time.
Perhaps Admin can trace the IP address of whoever signed in and read that PM.

.
I have now had a phonecall from Jas and the gasket should be here tomorrow by courier.
I won't even mention the still having my phone number but the phones were broken or to busy. :dodge:
There is no ill feeling, just in case that was not understood i did not have a contact phone number,i PMed and was told it was being sent on the 14th as you know via the PM i sent you today.
I gave it another two weeks and PMed again...now it is my fault
If i had been phoned or PMed to say it was on backorder and would not be here until mid Feb i would have simply said,no problem.

Is it not ironic the messenger always gets shot in these situation's

As long as the courier turns up tomorrow there is no concern. The gasket was offered to be driven over,as i said on the phone that is not necessary.
As long as it is taken care of and i am up to date there is no problem.

The reality is this is the internet but obligations still have to be met, that is part of life, communcation is paramount with this medium and it only takes seconds in a lot of cases.
No offence mean't but being close to 50 myself, this electronic era leaves little chance for excuses given a lot of things can be done sitting on ones arse at any time of the day.

And yes i am busy 25 hours a day also but still had time to machine these in my own time yesterday and get them to the post office this morning so they can get to the UK to help someone out.
Cost to them $0..
Then all i have to do is finish the USD fork tube clamp to go to Texas then the TLS Ohlins bracket to go to Switzerland.

Just to round up, as said on the phone i am not pissed off but simply wanted to know what was going on,now i do,not rocket science is it.
