Just reading a few posts lately and this seemed to come up.I know there has been plenty of nod/wave threads but what do you reckon about having a KB nod/wave? a salute or something so we can identify each other. I am neither for or against the idea but would like to see what people think.

We've been over this a million times.
It is:
* Expose left breast
* Wave right hand
* Indicate right
Optionally, if you can manage it, spank your own arse after the wave.
I'm SURE there is a link to it on the front page somewhere.

how do you tell its a kb wave and not a normal wave?!
it'd have to be somethign really stupid like "heil Hitler" or "right arm out and do the worm"
so on that basis no.

If you'd have read all the other wave threads, you'd have have known it WILL turn to shit and nobody cares and it's going to turn into another PD thread...
That's the polite answer....

Cool - staying on the right side of the law:gob:
If I manage to wave :bye: 50% of the time I am doing well; normally too busy, hanging on or just too slow. A nod seems to be easier, but how noticeable is a nod? Should it be a forward nod, a sideways nod or a bit of each - I nod to you! How noticeable is the nod? When I nod do you see me nod?
Too many questions. :shutup:

Stick your feet out too, that's REALLy freak the cagers out. Assuming they even bother to notice you in the first place.

I think you may want to join the Freemasons.
No need to distinguish between KBer's and ones not here.....some don't know about the site, some choose not to be here.
Wave to everyone that rides mate.....even the stuck up HD riders that are too cool (or too busy trying to stop their bikes wobbling).
They'll be the ones that don't get as much of a buzz outta their rides as we that wave do!:Punk:

And if they don`t wave back and you`re just out for a spin turn around and follow them,you`d be amazed how jumpy they get after a few minutes.
Of course the classy thing to do is have on-line semaphore lessons here and for all KB`ers to stash a couple of flags between the bars.Other road users couldn`t fail to be impressed by two approaching bikers waving "Hello mate,great day for a ride,watch out for the gravel around the next bend"...cruise control might be an idea as well though.

Well this has been funny. Like i said i am neither for or against but in all fairness i couldnt be biffed learin some new wave and the poll seems to indicate the ol` faithful nod and wave will do. Thanks for your input and its now good ot see/know what everyone thinks.

I've found that the HD riders that don't wave are usually only weekend riders and only if its a fine day and no sign of rain, wind, or too much traffic... riders that don't even come on things like the toy run because they think you have to be a member of a club... Little do they know they are already a member of a club/community...
I still wave or nod to all motorcyclists if I get one back kewl... if I don't ehhh what ever... I have noticed tho if an HD rider is carrying a pillion then its the pillion that usually acknowledges... probably cause the rider is to scared to let go of the handle bars :dodge:
I have said this before... I have owned a harley (for about 3 weeks)... and yup I still waved or nodded to all... and after riding all my other machines and then the harley... I was disappointed, it handled like crap... there were some corners I could hardly get round at the sign posted speed with out scrapping something. The ride wasn't that smooth... and on long tours the drone of it all became more tiresome than the actual ride... It leaked, it wasn't that reliable... Now I will admit they are probably more reliable now that the parts are made in (USA)Japan and not the U.S.A
oppps :Offtopic:
so again I still respect anyone on two wheels even if they don't respect others as such.
The nod wave thing is just that, a sign of respect, its an unspoken thing... not just to say "hi mate kewl bike..." but also a sign to say... "ride safe ride right, keep rubber side down and have fun..."

My 2c... why bother with a KB wave/nod?
I Nod/wave to any bike I see and to any biker (including scooters) who wave to me. Generally I do the nod more than the wave...
Doesn't phase me if i get a response or not... and even if it is a kber your waving/nodding to... what difference is it going to make if it is a KBer?

lol they do always looks shocked aye... I guess a scooter rider getting a wave/nod from a biker is as rare as a sports biker getting a wave/nod from a HD rider...
But I love waving to kid's the most... their little faces light up and you can just imagine the "mommy/daddy I want a motorbike" lol
