Gsf650s & Gs500f - K7

Below are the new Suzuki GSF650 Bandit and the GS500F sporting the new K7paintjob.

That must make them two of the longer surviving models in the current motorcycling world ('96 and '89 I think).

To be honest I'm a bit surprised that the Euro 3 regs haven't killed the GS off, (but I guess it doesn't actually produce enough emissions becasue it's so 'mildly' tuned), although the Bandit is now watercooled and a bit heavier.

Well that'll explain that then. Easy to do with the set up on the GS. The only thing that's different on the K7 compared to your K5 is the paint job (which isn't too bad).

not yet, i will replace them, its got fucked bushes and pitted staunchions..
i would say they have 10+ years and 80-000 kms on em!
tell me a bit about your one..fuel useage, top speed etc..

I only get to use mine for commuting, so I've got no idea of top speed. To be honest I think you'd be lucky to see more than 170kph. It's not really where the GS lives anyway.

Economy wise I get about 65 - 70 mpg (what ever that is in metric??). In traffic there's no need to spin the motor past 6000 rpm, even when getting away from the lights. At 100kph the GS is pulling 5000 rpm in sixth. I usually try and run in the 4000-6000 rpm range.

With the Givi screen you can cruise up to 120 pretty comfortably. Much more than that around here and you're into serious licence risk zone.

the f on my gs stands for fucked.
its been crashed, the fairing has been removed.
my best has progressive springs in the front, 360mls of 15w oil, and i have Ventura CR bend bars on it..
my one is the black frame model, with the Gixxer style blue-white paint.
i ahve taken mine out to 170kph 2 up, but it will sit on 140 ok.
good all rounder, despite my old crap forks!
