I'm looking for a 1947 or there abouts pre unit frame,prefer rolling chassis.Any info would be appreciated.

Should beable to hook you up with a Name & number of a good friend that Restores old BSA's ,Triumphs etc for aliving down here if ya keen .

Good luck with that.... The chances of finding a 47 rolling chassis worth having is probably quite remote shall we say... One assumes you have a 47 engine looking for a home???
From memory those early rigids had a different gearbox from the later ones so be careful there (Length of the mainshaft) as well. They LOOK the same but aaarrgghhh...

Yeah,thin on the ground I'd say - I've never seen a '47 rolling chassis in my life....that's not to say they don't exist.You already have one? So why do you need another frame? As Paul says there are a lot of differences,apart from the obvious like speedo in the tank etc.Head angle is different on girder frames,if you fit teles the front wheel hits the down tube.Does it have to be '47? Anything up to '53 or so will fit.
