FUCK YEA!!!! Been waiting for this one for a year and a half now, back when I first started hearing rumors about it. Remember watching the cartoon (anime) when I was a kid and a mate of mine has the entire series and movies on dvd.

I still have some of my Transformers from my "younger" days, not in perfect condition but at least they were made of metal than the plastic crap they make these days.
Still have most of my Optimus Prime :Punk:

christ, I can remember transformers from my childhood. Does anyone remember power rangers?
I took the Kids tonight with another Dad, also forcing his Kids to come along so he could check out the action. Neither wives would go. And they wonder why we wont go to chick flicks. As I looked around the threatre...Dad & Kids, Dad & Kids, teenies, Dad & Kids...teenies...
If you simply enjoy going to movies to be entertained then this is a must. Both my Kids came out saying it was the best movie they have seen. Will we buy the DVD, will we, will we? all the way home. Too right I will buy it.
Lots of action, good special effects, hot chick, good choice of actors for each part, plenty of humour.
Then there are the autobots.
You just can't help but like the autobots and their choice of disguise, which reminded me of the terminators beaming down to our timezone and finding someone to assimilate.
The way they transform.
I found it more enjoyable than the latest Pirates movie, that's for sure.

I'm going tomorrow with my boy (who thinks Mum is sooooo cool for going with him), hell yeah!!!:Punk:
The only moment of indecision was when choosing between that and the Fantastic Four, rise of the Silver Surfer...Damn, I had the whole collection of comics as a kid!
But of course, Master 10 and the robots won...

just got back from watching it tonight.
fuk me.
can't believe we've been waiting all this time for this movie to hit the screens.. It was bloody awesome. Only two minor complaints I'd have, is a) some of the robot fighting scenes, the camera is just way too close and moving round heaps, and at some points just goes blurry, can't follow it properly, but all the same. b) the two hot chicks in the movie, neither for their tits out. Very shamed.
Anyway, there's actually some good comedy in the movie and the level of detail in the robots etc is staggering. Can't help but crack a smile at the amount of work that goes into something like this when you first see a robot transform. way cool
definitely one to buy on dvd just for the extras and the making alone (really hope they put it on the dvd!!)

I dragged my eight year old son to this movie... I was more excited about it than he was. Lots of teenagers and older guys in the theater... I think my son was the youngest there. But what an awesome movie. Great graphics, a bit of comedy, the young guy in this movie is a laugh.. ahhh bumble bee, my fav robot! My son loved it, so did I and will buy it on DVD when it comes out.

Loved it!.
Anyone other than me catch the semi tributes to the original vehicles on the ones they changed? Like Bumblebee being parked next to a VW beetle at the car lot. The car Jazz was sitting on top of when you meet the rest of the Autobots. And the old as beat up van for Barricade in the area him and bublebee were fighting in?

Fucken loved it. The acting was great, some great humour and the CG was flawless. Not once did my eyes leave the screen.
One of my fave movies by far.
See it. You won't be dissapointed.

Me too. It was a shame they filmed those wrestling scenes so 'up close'.
You couldn't make out who was who and it did get blurry and the action, up close, was too fast to follow. But these were only minor grizzles and it didn't happen much in the overall scheme of things. The slow mo scenes made up for it though. That scorpion chasing the soldiers over the sand...awesome.
Second good point Buggie, we could have done with more close ups of the chicks.
The masturbation discussion with his Mum & Dad was a crack up. I'm sure other parents were squirming like me expecting awkward questions from the Kids.

ha! yeah, that was a classic scene. I've been thinking bout going to see it again actually. Just can't get over the detail in transforming the robots. I got dragged out during the credits, but I managed to spy 3 scenes and I'm guessing there were more towards the end. Oh well, have to go see it again!
thought it was funny during that scene where the autobots were 'hiding' too.. the comedy is great. Can't wait for the next one to come out. Don't think it's a movie that would tier (sp?) with sequels

The original transforming sound wasn't long enough to keep up with most of the transformations so it was either ditch the sound or just put it in in a few spots or make the tranformations fast enough to match the sound ut then you wouldn't be able to see much of how they changed.

I find "that's a grown up thing" works well for my kids... it's not a lie, doesn't put a negative slant on it and prevents futher questions as they go child to child asking about it.
Well - does for my kids anyway... I'm willing to bet it comes up in dicussions at school...!

Stunning movie. Don't often tolerate Bay/Bruickheimer movies but this one is great! A bit too heavy on the Bad Boys/The Rock/The Island type soundtrack/slow-mo helicopter egress shots but entirely enjoyable. Helps the chick was hot too!

not on all the transforms - obviously, or else you would have noticed.
But definately on some of them, in amongst actual noises metal might make when it moves. So it was hard to pick-up.
Im pretty certain when he first meets all of the auto-bots and optimus transforms you hear it then - can't remember the other times, but there were more.

Got to say I was pleasantly surprised with the movie, especially considering it was directed by Michael "Pearl Harbor" Bay.
Pity about the sequel-option ending though, and a particular shame about the sound that the 'Priller made - brought back memories of Torque *shudder*

No no no, when I saw the "love interest" I groaned, is THIS the woman they all think is hot? Trailer trash hot, Checkout chick hot, not classy hot. A hot slut. No thanks. I was disappointed by the lack of talent in the film.
And the autobots... faak, what pansies; "no, we must not harm the humans." blah blah. Harden up Optimus! He's named after a little tramping cooker, runs on kerosene. Must be Primed to work properly. Ha!
Just grab the damn cube and shove it in Jazz's chest. Movie finished, problem solved.
