Ive been nailed... got a nail in my rear tyre yesterday...
Been riding around on it (m-way etc) but going on a big ride with some friends in the tomorrow morning :Punk:
Will it pop suddenly?? or will it just go down slowly if it does anything at all??
Im just worried its going to suddenly burst on me mid corner or something!!

it advised to get it patched and fixed before your ride... it could work loose, or have a slow leak... (I doubt of a pop or anything) if it works loos it could be a sudden loose or pressure and could make the beed of the tyre to free..
But on saying that I had something similar a few years ago... and have no idea how many k's I did with it stuck in. I found it in Taupo and it got me to Napier...

could it be repaired? How much and how long will it take?
it's a good 4-5 hour ride, meeting friends at 9am... :gob:

Shouldn't cost too much maybe $30 bucks... and take only 30 to 45 to fix... most bike shops and or even garages can fix...

Sometimes people dont realise they've picked up a nail for ages. But seeing you've noticed yours then chances are something will happen (Murphy's Law).
Dont fiddle with it, but get it repaired asap. A mushroom plug should be adequate or worst case scenario Valcanised, getting it plugged should only take 30mins

I don't see any reason why they can't... I would give them a ring first thing in the morning... to see if they can do it first thing

Hi Dan, take it into CycleTreads (http://www.cycletreads.co.nz) in BarrysPoint Road. They should be able to repair it on the spot within 30 minutes for around $15, when I struck the same problem I took my wheel in and they had it done pretty quickly.
So long as the puncture is near the center of the tyre it should be fine, if it is near the sides then they may not be able to "legally" repair it (or some shit like that).

It looks like a rather big nail, but they should be able to repair it no problem. I had a chunk of metal about 1cm long stuck in mine and they managed to repair it, was quite impressed (and happy) as the tyre was brand new.

um think so?
Its really nice tyre ay... was on it when i got it from red baron... are they good then?
I would not risk buying another kind since im used to this one, so would replace with same kind. Would hate to try another and not like it then be stuck with it!

This is the nail....
That's a good size or has it still got it's head on it ?
Shouldn't be problem to fix, most likely a M/plug will do the job. Try to avoid them using a push in plug  using a mushroom will mean the tyre will have to come off the rim for it to be fitted, but still shouldn't take more than 30mins to do the whole job.
Picked up a M10 bolt a few years ago in my rear tyre that was able to be repaired (but it was valcanised though).

Went had had a great ride today, only just got back! Went all through scenic drive, huia and out to Kaukapa :scooter: :scooter:
Weather wasnt too fantastic and felt the rear squirm and slide a bit on the tight hairpins and even the faster bends! But great day was had by all!

Yes he did! He did a great job, and someone waiting in the shop offered me $3000 for my bike! was going to take it, but I offered Kerry $3000 for a 2005 titanium Kawa 600 he has sitting there... ...he had my rear wheel in his hand at the time and started telling me how he was tempted to 'forget' to tighten the wheel nut up with that offer!!! hahahaha!!
...nice bike though... looking for a upgrade now.... bring on 600cc ! !
