Cant get over the number bikes MD gets to ride! :)
Don't ride a sprotsbike so can only reall comment on the looks...reckon that the ZX-6R/10R's have the best looking tail sections of the Jap sprotsbikes.

not bad.. I'd consider it, should anything (God forbid) happen to my 636.. But I still think out of the ZX6's, the 03/04 bike is just the sharpest looking. The new 07 looks like it has a similar intake to the R6..?? And I like aggressiveness of my bike vs the 05-07 bikes. That edge just makes the bike feel raw and untamed. It's awesome.
Still, not ridden enough bikes to make too many comments, so I'll just nip down to the gargre and stroke my.... errrrr.. bike a little more..

Saw the first 07 model today. Always look good in green. Didn't see any price tag on it yet. I don't want to sound like I'm bagging Kawasaki a month after I switch brands but it does seem to be aimed at the track rider only. Maybe that's exactly what they wanted to do?
I loved the 636 for it's extra drive (torque in trendy speak) and all round road or track use. It was roomy and I did plenty of long trips in comfort.
I sat on the newbie and the pegs have your knees closer to your armpits- make sure you shave your underarms to avoid chaffing. The handlebars are lower. To me this made it an awkward arm movement to reach full open throttle because your have to twist/lower your arm further than normal.
Again, this may be fine when hunched down on a track day and I may be wrong and find all is swell when on the move.
Overall it certainly looked smart and smaller and lighter. It had those new BT015 tyres.
But I think they will miss out on those 'road-rider' sales that the 636s grabbed such a market share of over the past few years.
Tis the season of new models.

looks like the old R7 but with a central ram air, and underseat exhaust.

List price is $15,995. That makes it still the cheapest supersport bike.
The new CBR600RR has a jump in price over the last model in USA which will price it somewhere between the GSXR600 and YZFR6.
I tried the new black ZX6R on for size in Hamilton, alas the green demo bike was still in the box. Very sexy although an aftermarket seat would be the go for touring as it is much harder than the previous model's.

Couldn't agree less with ya there mate, at least there's someone out there with the same taste as mine, good. I really like the blue 04 one though.
Here's a link with some info, check out the difference:
600 cc (http://www.kawasaki.co.nz/kawasaki_custom.cfm?modelcode=ZX600P7F&do=specs)
636 cc (http://www.kawasaki.co.nz/kawasaki_custom.cfm?modelcode=ZX636C6F&do=specs)
The bore strokes and compression ratio seems to be different, as well as the dimensions and weight. Casette gearbox too, something new eh?

Well it aint green.
Just picked up, done 100kms (took the long way home) Early days yet, midrange power seems fine, Handling is very very nice. Assometer says ride feels a little firmer than 05 636. Holds a line thru a corner real easy. Very easy to move around on the bike. Oh and black is the new green.

It's bloody good alright but it was no match for the Italian Stallion... especially with the Finnster as pilot.
