Oh dear.... Telling people to fork off now ? :Punk:

All sounds fun - if I'm about and the weather is good I'll go anyplace..

Very kind of you Richard.
I'm keen for another ride. I'm easy on the route, but liked the timing of last weeks ride (10am). Nice 'n' early for those that may wish to partake later in the day.
Maybe a longer ride this time?

Hmm. If people were thinking of the 11:00 - 1:00 slot that appears to have applied last week, then it counts me out (as a participant and therefore facilitator) - I'm busy for lunch.
If it was early eveningish, I might make it - but I was planning to head north on a bit of a holiday on the 1st or second, and I'm not sure where my planning will be at.
I'm probably not reliable enough as a facilitator this time - maybe another time.

Today's Christmas Eve ride was spot on.
I'd like to throw the this thread open until Friday midday and now kick around some possible ride suggestions:
SUGGESTION TWO
Repeat today's run into Wellington around harbour and bays.
I enjoyed facilitating todays ride into around the bays, and throw open next weeks ride - in the nicest possibe way the ball is now passed and somebody can run with it until Friday midday and firm up a ride. [No knock-ons and no kicking for touch supportive altenative ideas welcomed]
Facilitatior / Group Leader announced next Friday.
Heads and Enjoy
My preference is Suggestion Two, the extent of traffic this holiday season I would take Suggestion One out of the equation altogether.
Morning or Evening Ride into Wellington around the harbour and bays then perhaps out to Eastbourne if a longer ride and/or back into Lower Hutt?
Avalon Duckpond
10.15am for 10.30am [or 4.15pm for 4.30pm]
Kaiwharawhara 11.00am for 11.15am [or 5.00pm for 5.15pm]
Feedback please. [Somebody want to set up a vote post?]

I'd suggest starting either 1:30 and just a plain old ride OR...
Starting 11 and being someplace for lunch.
Lunch sounds like a plan to me - anyplace you can park a motorcycle would be good for me that has passable food (ie I won't sitting on the can clutching my bowel all new years eve) and coffee.
Sandbar or bristol is good or that beachside place in kapiti or almost anywhere really. Whats that place at the end of Cuba area that was done up a year or so back like?

I won't be around but my Bro' might still be in Wellington so I'll encourage him to attend again and will keep an eye on this thread until I leave.
Paul he still needs advice on how to keep his Triumph gearbox oil off his clutch.

If he is sure it's gearbox oil it will need the gearbox pulling out and investigate the fit of the mainshaft through the fixed gear that drives the front sprocket. It's a bronze bushing from memory and replaceable but fiddly but to tell you the truth I can't quite remember how the unit 500's go together there..
If it's just a slipping clutch it could be a few things but proper setup is vital as well as using the right oil. I came to greif with the tritanic because penrite upgraded the HPR30 to an API standard effectively making it unsuitable for bikes with wet clutches. (Triumph is more 'semi wet' really)
A change to HPR 'Gas' and no more problem. (sigh)

Hey Hels I see Paul says he's a bit scared of you, well you'll look after my Bro' and not scare him eh? I'll be gone to Aus by then but he is staying on in Welly for a few days longer so I'm sending him on the ride because he enjoyed the last one. So look out for the guy on Mrs merv's DR650.
