What did I get for christmas?
I got FUCKING GRUMPY, that's what. But aside from intense rage, I got...
I got another ammo box for my bike, but it's made of wood so it will get all wet and can't be locked, good work father.
And I got some bullet hole stickers from my brother for the bike.
And a book of 75 greatest superbikes.
And some UN military patches for my motorcycle jacket.
And a book about maps.
And a calendar.
So it has been a motorcycle christmas.

I just got the usual small stuff,T shirts and caps, some new work boots.Best surprise was at the In Laws when my wife drags a big heavy box out of their garage, covered in wrapping paper.Inside was a garden mulcher - it's old and worn out,it needs a rebuild, new wheels etc.My wife got it for nothing from Waiheke Island via a free trade website. Now some of you may think being given an old worn out piece of equipment that doesn't even go is a bit of an insult - but I'm rapt,I can't wait to start pulling it apart to see how it works and what I need to do to get it going again.

My boys got half a computer from us.Our son in law built it up for them, and today he will transfer over the hard drive. They are really excited...now their games will play at full speed, and they will have their own internet access instead of using mine.

Who needs new to enjoy the gift of giving and receiving?

Got my O'Neal armour early, got back from my Uncle's funeral down in Wellington alive despite the insane traffic, got my wife out of hospital on Christmas morning, got a wolf figurine, a Black and Decker power drill and a set of drill bits, got to spend the day with my wife and kids, cook a roast dinner and share it with sister-in-law and brother-in-law-in-law (stray's sister and brother-in-law).

Me, wife and the cubs are alive so I guess that's the high point of the season.

27th December 2006, 13:14
I got heated grips for the Goose, two books, the U2 CD, possum fur socks (luxury!), jewellery, chocolates (a few too many... well, not really!), clothing, wine, toiletries, calendars, photo frame (with a scooter on it!) and way too many tins of biscuits I'll never eat...

And my mother even decided to spend Christmas with us so that was good, she doesn't drive and doesn't like to put anyone to any bother (she only lives in Lower Hutt...), and we also had Andy's parents and brother and his family here for the evening, so I can't really complain about Christmas this year. We all survived and will hopefully carry on safely for the New Year.

They're pretty neat, aren't they? Not that mine have been fitted as yet... but as we had 19C today and we're likely to have 20C tomorrow, I think I can live without them for a while! I had them on the Beemer and it was wonderful to have warm hands no matter what the weather was like.
