boxing day in all, and I'm a little bored
Back in my younger day i never tock a tyre off unless it was all the way down to the steel belts or popped , and even worse if i had a few beers in me :dodge: , there is many pict of me doing burnouts but not in my possesion, as im usauly doing them, I'll add a coulpe to start this one off
and if it tackes off, I'll sorce a hole pile more to poste. After i scan them in. as most are on 35mm

That tyre picture makes me sick.

Tried to do a burnout the other day, front brakes weren't strong enough (garage floor, smooth concrete). Got a few black marks but no smoke.

Yawn!.... can't see the point, the pleasure, or the need. Bit like wheelies and stoppies. Not a criticism, I just don't understand why people do it.

Me either especially burn outs..??? I find it a waste of time, resources and and effort... Whats the pleasure... yah you make smoke which annoys many others... reving the bike horay, again annoys others.... yah you blow a tyre.. whippy what a waste... and sometimes can cause damage to the bike and rim of the wheel...

So, when you do a burnout, do you have tyre-changing gear on hand to change the stuffed tyre so you can ride home? Or do you have to trailer it to a shop.

You're a boring old codger, thats your problem...

Sitting in one spot burning the tyre away isn't terrific, but throw in a bit of front brake control, a bit of tank sitting, and some circles and suddenly some skill is needed.

Judging by your avatar, you enjoy looking like an absolute fool sitting around playing computers games with a headset on...to many people, that is a waste of time...especially for someone close to 40 years old...

Guess that makes me a BOC as well then.

Hell yes it does.

Do you guys even get lean on in the corners? Or is that a bit boring/pointless/dangerous as well?

It's all about improving your motorcycle riding skills and balance (and maybe showing off a bit too).

Yea I do Burnouts and such but I don't mock others for not wanting to do them as well. Or are you trying to be another one of those shithead "my way is best so everyone do things as I say" people. It's not about improving skill. It's only showing off. At what point is sitting on your tank doing rolling burnouts gonna help you on the road?

Same could be said to Ceebie13 and Nighthawk. You may not enjoy burnouts but don't come into someones thread about burnouts just to rag on them. Not your bag good for you, saves money on tyres for sure but my bike my choice, same as you.

No, the actual journey is more important than the destination in my view.

40 years of biking may make me an old codger, mate, but it also means that you have a long way to go to catch me up on experience.

Do you guys even get lean on in the corners? Or is that a bit boring/pointless/dangerous as well?
I try not to...it wears the outer edges of my tyres down. Besides, I get scared if I lean over. :innocent:

I've never heard such a load of old twaddle in all my (old codger's) biking life. Have you seen it taught in an advanced motorcyclists course? No, didn't think so. What you mean is it's all about getting a job in a circus. Very clever, possibly entertaining (debatable?), but totally pointless. Each to their own though. And I do understand the enthusiasm of testosterone fuelled youth.

Nothing is worse for the handling of a sportsbike (any bike?) than rooted flat spotted read tyres. Even a little burnout roots your tyres, so imho a burnout on a tyre with life left is about the single most retarded thing you could do on a bike. But outside Cycletreads on Tuam st back in the day, oh yeah, seen some worn out tyres finished off in style there. Sure burnouts prematurely fuck every part of your drive train, but plenty of bikes end up wrecked well before that wear manifests itself in repair bills I'd wager, so it's not the end of the world

me and my mates used to drives rx2's or 3's. We were parked up one night in Jville and decided to call it a night, each of us putting in a burnout before we left. One of my mates car was out of action so he was hanging around on an old as RD350. His was definately the most impressive burnout of the night. Somehow he managed to put out more smoke than any of the cars. Had never seen a bike do a burnout at that time, so it leaves a memory for me.

ok, since the personal burnouts have slowed down, how about showing the best burnouts you can find? To kick things off, this tastey little number was sent me this morning:

The "best" burnouts were on the old big jap bikes. Back then we could buy tyres made out of shredded bike helmets Im sure. They stuck like a silicone coated poo to a plate glass window (not at all ) but did huuuuge burnouts

I remember the old (2nd gen Bogans) guys from the Hutt talking about a similar tyre the had for their cars, plastic like compound, good only for burnouts, nothing else! :devil2:

I feel a recreation in the works.

shame its a harley though.suprised it didn't spit a chrome plated wallet. HAHA!

i love it when you're going hard at a burnout and all that money you spend on tyres suddenly comes back to you in the form of the front wheel popping off the ground and firing the bike into the side of the couch in your garage..now THAT would've been a video!! don't believe anyone who says a cbr250rr is a gutless fag bike..
