It has to be the most perfect weather for bike riding. I havent seen a cloud in the sky for 2 days.
And Ive got NO BIKE --argggggggg
My nerves are shot -I've booked into the stacey clinic for bikeaholics as my withdrawel symptoms are peaking out.
Should any of you come to visit -out of respect look somber -do not loook like you just had a bloody good time out riding.

You know all those gorgeous days we had last week? I had to sleep through all of them. :( I did get a blast on The Man's 916 on Tuesday, but I'm working again yesterday & today, right through more lovely weather, while he's out on his bike without me. :crybaby:

No, not a bad boy at all, just remember folks, when decamping your ride DO NOT land on yur head, it does weird things to your neck! The :doctor: has made the decision for me, NO RIDING!! :blah:

I have only been able to ride my farm quad lately.

The little Fizzer was burning oil (Litre/1000kms) so I took it to town before going to Oz for two weeks leaving mid June. Get back and the effing mechanic hadn't even looked at it!!!!! :bash:Gave him the hurry up so he looked at it then I have to wait 3 weeks for rings and gaskets!!!!! Finally tomorrow or Tuesday I shall get it back (albeit 35 or 36 days later). :ride:

Meanwhile the Fizzer is in pieces my brand new Honda TRX450R :crybaby: (less than 15hrs on it!!!!!!) racing quad chucks the kickstart idler shaft out the back of the motor  Awaiting parts (Many) to arrive from the states before that can be chucked back together.

Till my bikes are back with Daddy then I have to be happy chuggin around the place on my old TRX300 with the boxer dog in tow.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm rubbing it in Frosty, but I managed to get out today.

The day dawned crisp and cold, at -3 degrees, but we had family stuff until 1.30pm.

After that, I was on the bike and up the takas.

Lovely day for a ride, and I think I'm getting over my lack of confidence.

I know how you are feeling, after four weeks without it, but boy does it feel good when you get to ride again. :D

Did anyone else here do SH16 today? What an awesome ride (yet again...)
Had things to do at home until midday and then I was off. Looked at the sky as I was coming into Wellsford and saw a couple of blackish-looking clouds. Told them to bugger off which they did. Rest of the ride was in brilliant sunshine. Coming back the same way I felt a bit adventurous so took the turn off to Warkworth which I've never done before. A bit bumpy but at least sealed - until I got about 5 or 10 km along and then gravel. Bugger, I thought, how long will this last? Fortunately only a couple of km, and then the rest of the way was great. Good surface, some twisties and sweepers, no traffic to speak of, some interesting scenery. HP was conspicuous by their absence the whole way until I got onto the harbour bridge and then one on a bike came roaring up behind me all lights blazing and siren going. Sinking feeling (was it the speed, or the creative lane changing earlier...?) but he obviously had other fish to fry so to speak (probably late for his afternoon tea) and zoomed past me.
Lots of bikes on the road and most of them waved back at me.
Perfect day. Sorry, Frosty...

just a C152 aerobat. i'm a bit big in it, but ya can't do aeros in a 172, as as long as i've only got 1/2 fuel on board, it's not too bad. i work at auck international, on the tarmac and in the air nz hangars, so i get to see and touch heaps of really cool stuff. a bombardier executive jet came in the other day from canada - imagine cruising at .85 mach in total luxury in your private $100mill jet direct auckland-vancouver....

This is a true story.
I woke up yesterday, thinking what a glorious day it was, be really neat if I could go for a ride, and Mrs FS says, "Hey - it's a nice day, let's go for a ride on your bike, and get some breakfast".:gob: :thud:

So eventually  , we got out of bed, and had a lovely omelette and a flat white, and headed off to the local CashConvertors to see if they had some leather pants for Mrs FS, as the ones I bought her on TradeMe were too tight. Some $49 later, we were properly equipped, climbed on the FahrtSturm, and off we went to visit a mate at Muriwai. What a beautiful day! And how nice it was that Mrs FS wasn't sliding around all over the seat, and that I wasn't getting my nads crushed against the tank.:D

I took it easy, as it was only our third ride together on the 'Sturm, and I didn't want to upset Mrs FS. She loved it, and has even agreed in principle to buying a more suitable bike for two-up travel ! (She didn't buy the "You could get a MiniStorm for yourself" idea though....) Apart from a couple of blasts (including overtaking about 6 cars at once), I didn't break any speed limits, and the only thing that Mrs FS commented on was the corners near home, where I cranked it over a bit, because I could. As you do. She didn't notice the short section of gentle monowheeling up the hill in first gear....

By the way - I nodded (didn't want to take my hands off the bars) at every biker I saw, and almost all of them didn't wave or nod back. Didn't help that almost all of them were riding American 2-wheelers, apart from a couple on Ducatis. The only one I got a definite wave from was the pillion on an HD that passed us (momentarily unsettled me, because I didn't see it in my mirrors). Mrs FS wondered why I was nodding, and when I told her she asked if she should have been doing waving duty for me.:2thumbsup

Humph! :weep: (We need a sulking "smilie"!)

The Man delighted in telling me all about his lovely ride yesterday, including the mass of bikes at the Okoroire Pub, who they'd caught up with & not getting home to the BoP until 6pm.

I'm working day shift all week - what're the chances it's raining this weekend?

What a great weekend alright!!

Saturday; Me and my lady stopped off at Pukekohe for a looksee and mistimed it and ended up only seeing cages cruising around. Then carried on down SH22, turned off at intersection (three bikers there having a yarn - yellow Ducati and a couple of Jappas? Sorry we didn't stop - had lunch to attend to) that leads to Rangiriri. Then down to Huntly & thru to Raglan for lunch. Then back home.

Sunday; I went for a blast thru Maraitai, Clevedon, Kawakawa Bay, to Thames - heaps of bikes, chatted to a few dudes. Whole pile of bikes carried on to Coromandel. Would have loved to follow but had to get back home.
