Well thought seen as the weather was going to hold off long enough for a ride me , John & his wife would head up north for a Cruz . Both John & Annie have brand new K6 GSXR 7fiddys they look so good on the road & seeing 2 of them side by side is pretty Kool looking . As well as the ride I had to scrub my new rear Michy Pilot-Sports in . I went for the standard Pilot-sport over the Power Pilot as I didn't like then way they move round while be pushed round corners , Grip was never a issue with the Power pilot but I don't except any tyre flex . The Pilot-Sports is totally different in everyway & had no Chicken strips with in less than 40ks from brand new they are that good & by the time we got to some wet road had no worrys about trying out the grippyness there which it just hooked up & off I went very happy . While parked up in Mokau Quasievil turned up & come over to say Hi after spotting my Aprilia parked up which was great to say gidday & wish a happy new year . Looks like another SV650 will be up & racing soon by the sounds of it . Look forward to seeing ya out there Quasy . With the weather starting to look abit dodgy s we headed back home & road at a good pace to enjoy our bikes but not enough to annoy the Speed Patrol. Since the new rear was worn in I gave it a good try out on its edge when coming through the Valley . Seen as my Aprilia is only 140HP it isn't going to be to hard on the tyres like some of the 180HP Japper rocks . So will see how long the new Hoop will hang in there & how it wears through out its life of Crime :Punk:

Wicked mileage guys from a PP!! I'm working on riding smoother atm to help with my rubber addiction though.
Our SV has Pilot Sports on it and handles a jolly good thrashing just bloody fine! Under rated tyre IMO.

Had a ride on Scotty's 'Prilla myself this arvo, I reckon the Pilot Sport is a nice combination of stability and sharp handling

Excellent to hear as we're currently considering trading the SV on a RSVR and any info like this (tyres/ride etc) is very helpful.

Aprilia RSVR's need to be set up right which can take abit of tuning but once you have it sorted then they really shine . Don't except a tyre that flex's like the rear Power Pilot so want be using one on the rear again but the Power Pilot front are great ?? go figure , So Pilotsports rear PP front . If ya need to ride a well set up RSVR & you are down this way call in .

Ha ha ha,...I had to laugh (no disrespect intended here as I love Aprilias) but when Sensei says " Seen as my Aprilia is only 140HP it isn't going to be to hard on the tyres like some of the 180HP Japper rocks" does that fact that my Guzzi ONLY puts out 90HP it's going to extra extra good on tires...
Ah well, it was worth a shot :Punk:

Them seem to do fairly good milage from what mates V11 was getting out of tyres & the full Ohlins Corsa version would have been better again .

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, Sensei, but do you see a trend to where this is going??
V-Twins are easier on tyres, whether it be hard-out Aprilias or the nostalgic CX500's !!

6000k! Pilot Sports!:gob: I love the variation in peoples preferences and mileages. My Ape does (only) 122hp at the rear wheel and I got 4500k out of a Conti Sportattack. I tried Pilot Sports on my FZR 750 and SV1000s. Didn't like them at all. Ended up loving Metzeler Sportecs. Stink mileage though. I'm still enjoying the Conti's but might try some Pirellis next. Each to his own. I've still got to get the last wrinkles out of my suspension though. Been thinking of passing that job onto Shaun but would like to develop the skill meself if I can be arsed. Part of the thrill of ownership.

Many thanks gentlemens. I have several articles on the basics and have scanned websites. My main difficulties are that I learnt to ride in the early eighties and still haven't really got past the "stop your moaning and ride the bastard" attitude that was prevalent. Also, if I'm not riding and have time to organise a mate to come and hold the bike while I sort the sags, it's time that I should be spending with family. Weak really. I'm onto it in the new year lads. Whenever I ride a sorted bike it's a bloody revelation.
