Hows the weather holding up in Welly, is the ride still on? Its partly cloudy and dry up here, if a little cool.

Overcast but dry in the Hutt. Only minimal wind.

Doubt it'll stay that way, but fingers crossed.

Wont be able to make this one. Hope the weather holds for you guy's! I went round the bays a day or two ago and there is was bit of dirt and little dirt rocks on some of the corners and if the weather was bad last night there could be bit more so watch out for it! Have fun guy's. Ride Safe! Happy New Years!

15 guys showed up for the ride and we got back to the Parrot and Jigger just as the rain arrived.

Though a bit windy it was good to get out for the ride today.

All tucked into a meal and my BLT and hot chips were good.

To all have a Happy New Year

Heads Up and Enjoy 2007

Hey

Thanks very much to everyone yesterday. Was good meeting you all. Well worth the trip down from Palmerston. Looks like I am having to put a hold on my trip to the Coromandel, my new years eve was a little too sucessfull :Punk:

Take care everyone and we will surely catch up for more rides during the year.

Nah just an escort for the ride:yes:

No drama just a pull over, no ticket, was checking up on some rogue activity occuring in the district on a similar bike - we were sweet.

Heads Up and Enjoy

When I left my home in Wellington to head out for the New Years eve ride I figured I had enough time to get to the duck pond instead of the Kaiwhrawhara meeting place.
Heading out to the Hutt I had seen a couple of patrol cars and thought nothing of it when I pulled up behind one at the lights to cross the Kennedy Good Bridge. After crossing the bridge the patrol car pulled over and let me pass. Cool, so I thought. A quick look in the mirror confirmed he had taken an intrest in me so decided to take refuge amonst the collection of respectible looking motorcyclist's at the duck pond.
Unfortunatly my escort followed me in there with a full lighting display.
By this time my mind was racing.....could I have possibly exceeded the speed limit and been "tagged" by a concealed lazer toteing lawman??? ah no, just a licence and rego check, seems my bike fitted the discription of one they were looking for that had apparently been playing up in Wainuiomata.
Thanks for the photos MattRSK, it appears my bike and I are in all of them. Good to catch up with you and others on the ride.
All the best for the New Year KBer's.
Wayne.

Sorry I didn't get to join up with you guys for most of the ride. Got the timing wrong and ended up riding the bays by myself until I caught up at Island Bay. (I was the one that arrived just as you were about to get back on the bikes again!). Then when we got to the Parrot, I had to shoot off again due to family commitments. Hopefully I can stay longer the next time. (and make the starting point at the right time).
