Just canvassing your thoughts on setting up a forum for 69,70s, early 80s Honda SOHC fours forum in the "Clubs" section. With the idea of sharing your experiances with these wonderfull Japanese machines. Seems quite a few KBers have owned one at some stage or still own one.

Own a CB750 for a few months, that was enough for me and I swapped it for a Hillman Hunter....and I got the better end of the bargin. They would make a good chopper, then you wouldn't have to worry about the dangerous handling.

That's what makes those bikes so nice... You have to ride them.
Not like today's gutless auto-piloted 300km/h rides. :dodge:
They are actually perfect for the NZ roads. Can try to go full out with out reaching twice the speed limit.

They whre the worlds first "superbike" :dodge: . Bit like super sizing your Big Mac order really. In this case more bike for your buck instead of bite for you buck.
Personnally I do prefer the smaller capacity models. Especially cb500 through 650z model range.

No - the Norton Commando and Triumph Trident/BSA Rocket 3 were the first 750 superbikes, the Honda just tagged along after...and they handled great, not like the barge of a CB750.My next road bike after the CB750 was an XS1,the first XS650 to you - not as powerful as the CB750 of course, but it had a much lower CG and was narrower too.A much better bike on narrow twisty roads, and light years better in gravel.I had the CB750 for less than a year, the XS1 for 15 years....that's how much better the Yamaha was.

The small 4 cyl Honda's were just a gutless joke, made a shit load of noise and never went anywhere.I remember seeing one of the first CB500's that was sold in Auckland after it ran into the back of a car a few days later.I was shocked to see it nearly completely destroyed, even parts of the motor were ripped off,it can't of been going very fast as they were hard pressed to get any speed out of.
What do you want to start a club for this crap for? You'd only be presiding over a bunch of morons.

Okay, lets hear another side of the story Motu...

I once owned a CB650, an ex police machine, they got rid of them because the wimps claimed they were too dangerous to ride. I thought it's handling was OK, for the era. All the Jap bikes of that era handled like shit, it's just how they were.

Sounds like a good idea, I collect old Honda's and have more love, passion and enthusiasm for them than Hyosung, believe it or not!
Ever since my uncle gave me his CB 650 to restore some years ago. Aaah.
Motu's sentiments are nonsense, the mere dribblings of an old man whos sniffed too much petrol fumes in his time.

I've heard Cops, and insurance companies....and motorcycle gangs and drug lords read this website - by opening my mouth I will incriminate too many important people and put my own life at risk.what I have to say on the matter may even concern Mr Bush - the fall out from Huntly may even reach your neck of the woods.Unfortunatly even that may not destroy the Hondas.

Honda's are disposable, it's like collecting foil pie tins.

Everyone should have a sohc Honda rotting under a hedge as an offering to the gremlins of fuckups - they will be attracted to the sohc Honda like flies to a rotting carcase....and leave your far more important bikes alone.

Perhaps the scope of the original idea can be expanded to include any make of motorcycle providing it is no younger than 1989.
Or in a more forward manner, a forum to talk about old shit that gives you a blissful feeling of nostalgia whilst cruising a smooth 80 down a virgin gravel road that hasn't been rapped by the Council workers.
