Well thanks first of all to the Lawrence Brothers for running a awsome meeting, The Marshells for standing there with there flags, The fans that came out to watch, and my parents for getting me there and paying for it all.

Well first practice was interesting I got out on track on slicks in the rain and still had a lot of grip to go settled into my 125 and the track and before i knew it first practice was over.

So back into pit lane to see my dad then looked outside my pit garage and it hosed down so quickly changed to wets as dad was working on my brothers 125 trying to find his power loss issues the rain kept coming and practice 2 was called up i knew i could start pushing harder on these tires so i did and the rain drenched the track which sucked for the speed but I kept pushing then halfway round turn 1 I felt my knee slider tap the ground such a wierd feeling to have knee down in rain practice got faster but the sun started to come out so i kept aiming for puddles to keep my wets in good condition I also saw the whole glen crash tumble tumble tumble then remembered shit im on the track and almost ran off so lucky so practice ends and in i come for another tire change 125s are so much fun to work on.

Slicks are on bike generator turned on gearing altered and im ready i gear up and wait for sam to start getting ready before i take my warmers off I end up going out in practice feeling confident and start pushing but to my surprise my bike was sliding quite bad which really sucked as i knew i could go faster as the other 125 boys flew by my front end was sliding out from underneath me all the time, practice ended well so i came back to pits ready for the first unofficial race

Race 1

Race 1 I line up on the grid on the second row start flag held, I pull clutch in put bike into gear pick revs right up and watch the flag man he drops the flag and i slip my clutch but stuff my launch up so im coming into turn 1 in second to last place infront of me was Sam (Flyno) his 2000 RS had more power than me out of turn 1 and up through the hill im on my clutch hugging onto his back wheel hard on my brakes into the first gear right hander before the hairpin slotting up behind sam into the hairpin we dive sam brakes and i brake latter and ride around the outside of him on my clutch i go and slip it out of the corner to keep onto him the 2000 rs starts pulling away but i catch his draft which drags me along into the tire section i couldnt out brake him here, we change down gears i try for the inside line onto the start line but hit the big bump my front wheel starts sliding again but im draftingsam i notice i was better into the esses than him lap 2 is the same as lap 1 so i wont rediscribe
Lap 3 I am close to sam last lap I know I have to pull a move soon I try to pass sam round turn 1 which i lose ground as I ride around the outside lose corner speed and have to slip my clutch sam starts pulling away so I catch him again under brakes into the hairpin right on sams tail now piling on out flat tack changing my gears right on sams tail into the tire wall section sam beats me into there shit a few corners to go I slip my clutch and am right on sams back wheel into the esses last corner I outbrake sam and dive up the inside and then slip my clutch and cross the line in front of him,

Thanks for the good race mate:yes:

well thats a long write up for 1 race theres 3 to go still so there coming tommorow

well that was the end of the day but the social was on so i went for my bbq and ended up talking to Richard Honda RS125 #24 we got talking suspension and ended up in my pit altering my bikes suspension I did not have enogh weight on front wheel and thats why I was getting front end slides all the time we reset my shocks and cleaned my tires and then i had to go to bed so Thanks Richard for all your help made a big difference

Well to the track I get to see my bike all ready to go Im eager to test my new suspension set up Bears get called up Im gearing up and start my bike aswe only get 3 laps I get out on track and start pushing after lap 1 and incredibly the bike feels alot more responsive and corners better before I know it im seeing chequered flag which kinda sucked as bike felt mint.

Race 1 Official

We line up on the grid Im 4th place Flag go's up Revs increase flag drops clutch slips perfect launch
Im flying down into turn 1 middle of field with F3 bikes through turn 1 then bam down goes a 250 right infront of me shit I pick bike up and just miss him I get by safely lose some ground but end up catching a 125 and who is it but Richard so Im on his tail forages then we get tangled up with F3 bikes and Richard gets by but the F3 bike blocked me I was gutted and finsihed 4th I think in that race

All us 125 boys got together and decided to ask if we could organise double flag drop which we could so Race 2 should be better I change my gearing as well

Race 2 comes F3 bikes take off just as they hit turn 1 us 125s get launched off piling down into turn 1 I get through safely in 4th keeping a good pace my bikes gearing is spot on and I have alot of power when I accelerate I get out of the corners scraping my knees in the bends making my 125 as wide as possible so no one can get by easy 3rd lap out of the Hairpin Richard passes me I am quite happy that I stay ahead of him this long power along we pass the back F3 bikes and chequered flag comes out sweet 5th place but improving constintly,

Race 3 comes this time F3 has a huge gap to make racing better for all of us
They take of what seems like ages we get let off Im on the back of the front guys, we pile on through out of the hairpin Adam passes me and takes the rest of the field Graeme Cole and Richard are in front of me im right on there tail drafting them but just cant do anything from 2nd 2 5th place is about a second apart, Im trying everything and running out of time I cant pass any one so justkeep the pace up and cross the line in 5th again but was a good 5th

We ride around our cool down lap and the guys working setting up for A1 GP are clapping at us and cheering such a cool feeling I wavethencrank the best wheelstand ive done down the straight and then head into pit lane.

Thanks to Langlands Honda, and everyone that helped me that weekend

See you guys at Manfield round of Nationals

Ivan
3rd January 2007, 16:57
Yeah guys, it makes a big difference when you can compete with another 125 and stay and see the front guys in front VTEC mate I thought you woulda seen it I mean I love riding and my long break helped no pressure on me to do good when I came back at Trackday so I relaxed and just rode and rode to feel what the bike was doing and how I was doing,

Then this Taupo meeting came and I had alot of fun in the wet so of course I went even faster in the dry it was a fun weekend
