Are you talking about the blue Mazda 6 that lurks up here?Catches a lot because most ppl are looking out for Commodores.Stay away from SH1 because the traffic has been a nightmare. From listening to the scanner lately the cops have had a few traps set and have had a lot of bikes doing runners, like the guy on the Rocket3 who did a runner fron Dairy Flat and crashed in front of the cops in Orewa on wednesday.Have a good ride

Oh for goodness sake! Come on Crashe you must understand why I make this rule for the larger rides? Its bad enough picking up pieces or looking for lost sheep on the ATNR let alone a 400kms+ ride.
For those who havnt noticed, I have changed the pace to Medium. But for those riders who have been on big rides , they know IT IS HARD to pick a speed for the group - It depends on who is on the ride..........:innocent: I know what speed I will be riding tmrw and if anyone wants to join me they are welcome to keep up. (Remember I need my license for work, if ya get my drift...)

Some of us have to live vicariously...
I decided that on my superior powered red Hyosung GT250R(L plated proudly displayed) that I was to set off from Albany up North in a rebel tour(should have included crashe) starting at 5.30am Saturday morning.
Having been boycotted by the alledged higher powered bikes I was determind that I would leave the 600 plus CC bikes in the dust. However just short of Wellsford on SH 16 I saw a green blurr in my rear mirror and thought faaaarrrrkkk its gotta be that Quick Kid guy.....
At least Quick Chick gave me a wave.....
Dammitt I did 135 plus on that straights.......

You're very welcome Ben. Great to have you along so I could at least look like I was quick.
600 kays and my arse is a-hurting, but oh what fun. Some very nice roads up there, and some choice holiday spots picked out for next year. Well worth the effort.
Thanks to all the litre riders who hung around for us (mostly). Pace was at the upper limits of what the VTR250 will do, but all worth it :Punk:
P.S. Good to see Steve got his wallet back. We all know how embarassing it is to go into the shops to buy condoms, so losing some is a real pain ;-)

enjoyed following the smaller bikes gunning it through the corners, always brings a smile to my face when i can see someone ringing out the throttle.

Hey thanks for thinking of me....... much appreciated.
I went out for my ride.......... went up Red Hills, Old North, Peak Road, along Kaite......... Flat Rd up throu Orewa to Warkworth....... called into visit a mate who was back down in Albany..... oh well ya get that.....
Shot up to Wellsford and had a bite to eat.
Called over to see Speedie at work....... but the buggar must have been out on a job (next time speedie) headed back down 16 and stopped at the look out....... chatted to a biker....... and then two wellingtonians stuck in a car for their holiday... Ducati left at home.
Cruised on back down 16 to Kaukapakapa back along Kaite............ Flat Rd to Dairy Flat..... back down 17 to Albany and caught up with a another mate....
Had a great ride....... awesome day...... and NOT a cop to be seen......
Just a nice cruisey day out on the bike......... no great rush..... just having a fun... Oh and I did over 200kms on my bike.... with me going back an forwards on the same roads.....
I can do alot more........ as I have travelled up to Russell and back in a day... with a very sore knee at the time.
Plus recently rode all the way down to Palmie north in a day...
So Littleman, anytime you want to go for a ride....

Great day out. First ride of the year and she was a beaut. Been a long time between real rides and I admit to being a bit rusty into the corners for the first 100 km. After that I slowly got better at keeping that pesky 150 from gaining to much ground on me in the twisty bits. Well done ldnz on that front. Great lunch up at Opononi and also meet Nana rider (?) and his friend at the kauri tree. Great day and a good pace.
Only complaint was the 400km turned out to be closer to 630km of great roads. What more could I ask for?

Haha cheers! Yeah I had a few scary moments in the first 10 k's or so where I ended up hard on the picks mid corner to stop from cutting under you. Sorry about that!

Thanks Qks for an awesome guided tour, Qkchk, thanks for making me feel welcome (read not too slow), was the best ride I've ever been on, awesome roads and finally felt "alone" enough to open the throttle a crack, without worrying about handing my license to Mr Plod.
Back tyre is well and truely stuffed thanks goodness I've still got 5mths worth of wof, though I think its only got ATNRs left in it will need to replace it before next big ride. On the positive side though I'm now sure that those scrub marks on the edges are all mine and not the previous owners. Very happy about that!!!
Cheers to all who made the day so memorable, and Steve how in the hell did you find that wallet, wasn't back at the servo after all was it?
Cheers

When we got home, Mr Plod had left a message on the answermachine. It seems someone had handed it in at Opononi...........:Police: Good to see the force giving a hand where it is welcomed. :yeah:
When the second bunch of you guys took off, Steve didnt get to Opo for another hour or so........then he had to have a break eat his cold chippies and warm KGB..... we decided that it was too late to try and chase you guys up so we went back for another sweep of the road (approx where the cellphone was found) and didn't get to Kaikohe till 6.15pm. We cut back through the way we came up (Twin Bridges etc...) so all was not in vain ;) got to enjoy a sweet bit of tarseal again. We didnt get back home till after 9.30pm that night. However, I'm glad that you all found your way home. Usually this doesnt happen but it was out of my control, Sorry. :(

Sounds like this was a fabulous ride folks - did the same route only a day prior but rode up to Ahipara via Rawene - FABULOUS twists and turns from Rawene to Ahipara - great stuff - saw sparks for the very first time (no longer a peg scraping virgin - and I can HARDLY wait to hear what y'all have to say about that one!!) - gutted I couldn't join y'all on the way home tho - would have been great. Rode through Waipu cove and Langs back to Mangawhai and home - primo riding up there!! Feels like a KB weekender sometime soon.....?
