A (almost) warm sunny day,T shirt, shorts and jandals, the wind in my hair....driving the NX Coupe with the targa roof out.I can see so much more, hear so much more, smell so much more - this is more freedom than a motorcycle.

So I took the long way home - over from Pokeno to Tuakau, from SH22 onto Churchill road and the little bit of gravel left - the bastards are sealing the southern end.I've never driven on gravel with no roof, that's cool, and noisy.Over to Rotongaro and home - not a bike in sight, apart from a very muddy YZf400 and a couple of guys with big smiles.

And the best bit? - it's so much more fun in a stolen vehicle.

Research a GTR Skyline and you'll beg to differ yourself.

Where is your comeback Mr Peanus.

The MX5 is a well rated car for sure, even if they are mainly owned by queers and hairdressers...

To compare it to the likes of a GTR, something that is considered by many in the know to have superior handling to exotic Euro cars...is just crazy...

I'm not going to argue, the man's done his research. I'd still like to see you keep up :)

Some old guy who didn't pay his bill.Trouble is there is 4 grand debt on the car and it's only worth $800 max.I told the finance company if they want it I'll pull my motor out and push it out onto the road, they can pick it up from the council pound. They don't want the car,so it's mine - but I can't sell or put it in my name.So all the parking and speeding fines go to the old guy who's done a runner to OZ.I've put 10,000km on the car already so it owes me nothing now....if it runs out of gas I'll step out and walk away.

Had the roof down on the way home from Russell - got terribly burnt. Specially when we had a 1/2hr wait for the car ferry at Opua in the midday sun. Must use more sunscreen next time.... :yeah:

Bikes suck these days with all the protective gear we wear, the only way to feel the freedom of wind in your hair is in a bloody car! This is what was so much fun when I started riding bikes.

Your choice. The odds of a cop on the roads you ride would be slight indeed.

Or head to a beach for a gear free blat. Sand is soft.

An open at neck light leather jacket and open face helmet comes pretty close.

I think that's a main why I am quickly growing to hate road bikes after such a short time, yet have always loved my dirt bikes.

There's no one to tell me what gear I should be wearing, it's the best on a good hot day.

For years I had a really nice AGV open face (when AGV was a rare quality Italian brand) that left my ears out in the breeze.I could always wear my horse helmet....

Surely thou shittest us, or else hath never hit 'soft' sand with thy head at thpeed.

Even quads, now, I never ride in the dunes without a helmet.

Ago always wore AGV.It's a pity he never got to race against me,but at least it saved him some embarresment.AGV is possibly now owned by a company whose interests include weedkiller, prophylactics, harbour cranes, garden furniture, products for the space program and a brewery.Hence they will always have my support.
