Hey I'm Chris. Nice site and a great find after being away from bikes for the past 17 years. I got married, wife had 2 kids and I traded the CB 650 custom in on a tin can with 4 wheels and a spare. She was hard to let go (the bike not the wife) as I rode her from Christchurch to Auckland in the middle of winter (love that black ice) and after a nice rest on the ferry, I was prepared for the North Island winds and snow ,or so I thought, but thats a story in itself.

I've been a computor junkie for most of those years and recently had heart attack which got me thinking about bikes again so I bought a 1987 Yamaha XJ750 Ex Police bike from trademe and after pumping up the tires it rode fairly well and now I'm back to biking.

I,m 51 years and would like to meet with others near my age as I'm thinking of buying a tourer/cruiser and would like to join a club for meets and rallies. As I've been out of game for several years I'd appreciate some advice on the make/model of bike to purchase (up to $ 15,000) and clubs to join.

Cheers

Welcome back! I guess Ulysses Club would be an obvious choice given your interest in Cruisers. Dunno how many KB members belong to that group as I am fairly new too. Just bought my first Cruiser and loving it!

Welcome to KB......

So you want to join a club.... well there is Ulyssess that costs ya money.... (Private message Rhino for details)

Or stick around here for FREE........... and click on "Meetings and Events" and go on one of our rides..... we really dont bite........

Not all the rides on here are fast ones......

Many are for slow to medium riders......

Or you could be TEC (Tail End Charlie) and round them all up as and when they decide to have a wee lie down on the ride..........

Come and check out the Thursday night rides out west...... ATNR
apparently the Thursday night rides out south are a tad faster....

Welcome to the asylum!
You don't need to join a club - there are so many rides organised through this site that you'll never be bored.

Welcome to KB hardkopy!
You will find enough rides and events around this site for starters. Plenty going on around here.
Watch yourself on the roads after a 17yr layoff... the psycho's on the roads (driving cages) have multiplied dramatically in that time!!!
