I'll commandeer the boat I work on, anchor out off Oriental Bay with a lot of food, water, diesel, and a few guns. Whoever saw a zombie swim? THey can hardly walk.

My friends and I have spent many drunken nights discussing this. I even find myself looking at buildings and thinking "Hmmm that'd be a good place to hole up during a zombie invasion".

I'd go to the nearest Hirepool. Pretty secure with barb wire fences and has all the equipment I'd need (i.e. fuel, generators, power tools, diggers,trucks etc). I'd then use a bulldozer or digger to fortify the position and get food from the nearest house. Now that I have a safe secure base with food, warmth and shelter, I would recruit survivors and train them. Primary objective would be to form a defensive convoy and move to a more permanent compound like the Ports of Auckland - big open fenced area with sea access, a Foodtown and lots of heavy equipment and containers (full of goodies) that can be moved around to form barricades.

There I'd recruit more survivors and train up armed hit teams who will be tasked with excursions outside the wire to retrieve various supplies. Long term goal would be to gather together enough survivors and equipment (boats, helicopters etc) to clear an island like Rangitoto/Motutapu as a safe home. The Ports of Auckland would then become a forward operating base to launch more patrols to find survivors. Once my Army is big enough I will start my zombie cleansing campaign.
