hi guys im only new on the block ..
My names kyle in 31 from whanagrei and finally got my licence after many yrs riding .. Well i grabbed myself a X913 Suzuki across Euro Sports bike 250cc a few weeks back ..

I woke up on the 28th of december walked out side started my bike while it was warming i packed bare essentials in a small tote bag and went for a ride .. I arrived back today the 6th Jan .. I have coverd 4791 Kms. and rode with many bikes along the way, was the highlight of my life .. The bike purred the whole way Be it beside 250cc or up side by side with the 1000cc + boys went from coast to coast tip of north island to wellington .. And cant wait to do it again . Moral of my short story .. Dont let a bike cc rating tell you ya cant tour .. !

Great to hear you're loving every minute of it! I've owned a bike since I was 17, and funnily enough, have done most of my touring on a ZZR250

Now that's what I call a cool ride. Isn't it amazing what bikes do to you. love to hear where you went and what roads you found that were seriously cool.

top effort. I would love to get away for a couple of weeks on the bike but never seem to find the time. Should just take a leaf out of your book and packup and go.

most of my riding was on sh1 , sh3, sh4 .. i visited nearly every bay nook and cranny between Kaitia & Wellington found sum awsome roads down south of newplymouth that take you up throw the mountains .. Snow even Rather cool can feel temp change .. My trip started off to get a wendys burger In auckland then well i turned into Forest gump .. And felt like RUNNING *riding* So rang the wife and kept her posted along the way at stops and fuel breaks .. Basicly done the east coast first via sh1 then cut throw the natinal park toward wanaganui down to wellington then up the west coast with alittle zipping back and across inland for scenic roads and views .. Bike now is running better than ever and i think i may even have stumbled across mavrik and the guy with dasiy on friday nite around 6:30 auckland motorway takanini offramp i may be wrong but they looked to be riding together .. Will try my best to go for a burger ont he 12th this month for my first Kb 250cc ride .. Will give more detail of ride if ya'll wish .,.

I tip my hat to you sir, I shall say it again - you are a right nutter of the obfuscated and eclectic order! (takes one to know one!) Your very tenuous grip on the boundaries of our sidereal, space-time continuum is a marvel to behold!

A great and real truth is eluding me here, but for the non, I shall encapsulate the pertinent facts of the matter forthwith. Your marvellous treatise on the wit to ride on a wild, winsome moment, waxes well with my analogous philosophy on the errant "mood of the moment or fancy" phenomenon!

Indeed, a great service and undertaking you have gainsayed for us chaps that, in the vernacular of perambulatory personages that deign to commandeer motorised two wheels of freedom, "pootled, blatted, fanged, nana, etc. intel and so forth".

Rousing imagery of a devil-may-care, lone Quixotic figure riding to vistas and pastures anew, "gumping" as it may be. Lanes of fresh and verdant adventures, sideroads of mystery and intoxicating experiences, caress of nature's bounty, philosophical musings deep in the id, ego and mind on your solitary sojourn, such sublime and sepulchral tones I shall not deign to dwell upon!

Long may your wheels roll, light shall be your petrol bill
Bug free visor, Sunstrike minimal, corners aplenty
Capital encounters with the best of humanitys offerings
Safe and sound at your stops, and above all
Riding on those two wheels of freedom, fun and fancy free!

Excelsior! Carpe Diem! Amor est vitae essentia, a capite ad calcem
A fortiori, adversus solem ne loquitor!

I love that... "woke up on the 28th of december .. I arrived back today the 6th Jan "

I went for a short ride the other day - it was so beautiful I nearly ended up in Tga to visit my brother - the mere fact of wolfpups at home needing parenting held me back.

I'm so envious.

i agree i have a Awsum better half .. Shes now saying i cant wait for you to get full licence we should buy a larger cruiser and go for a ride she has caught the bug from my endless Ear Dropping chatting to friends and family of what i seen and experienced .. Um yes that was i at the kensignton kamo rd lights .. Was ecroting a friend home as he just purchased his bike that morning .. I personally live in whangarei Onerahi suburb below airport .. If any ones near by and wants a ride ill be there with bells on And a helmet  ..

As im still on a lower end licence and after doing this trip i have kinda been looking at a 250cc in a cruiser style but know piss all about whats good to buy ? have been offered a YAMAHA XV250 .. Any input would be awsoem plz !

Or do i stay with my proven bike that purred like a kitten over 1000kms non stop .. Only thing i dont like about my across is my ass is still dead .. HARD SEAT !:scooter:

Stick with the Suzy Mate - nothing against the Yammie - they're a great starters bike - but you're WAY past that

Nice ride. Makes it fun riding with others though, lonely rides but good you met up with some others, awesome community of riders out there. Would have passed you on the way north from Otorohanga to Kaitaia on New years eve. Did Oto to Rangariri via the back roads ( I left at midday) Then sat on 120 km/hr along the Motorway on the mighty GN and out to the awesome windy roads through Helensville up to Wellsford. Planned to go up the West Coast but was 6.30 at Dargaville so headed up the middle to Kaikohe (nice ride anyway) and then up through the Mangamukas to Kaitaia arrived 8.00pm for a well earned monteiths dark ale. Only rode with another bike briefly from Wellsford before they passed me up a hill. GN clocked 10000km on that trip (Bought new in August 2006 ) and has done most of that at 100-110 km/hr. Going strong and loving it.
