I have a hell of a dilema....
I missed the last South Island KB get together as I totalled my bike. I have a nice new bike which runs like a dream and the Glenorchy rally is the weekend.
Now the dilema I have a new girlfriend who lives quite a distance away and we have the opportunity to meet up this weekend, but as yet she is not really set up with gear to go on long bike trips nor do we have the gear for both of us to stay on site for the night.
If we don't get together this weekend we will not see each other for a month due to work commitments.
So what is it guys the rally or the girlfriend......

Spend time with the missus, but use it to find her some gear, then you can ride anytime!

The rally. If the girlfriend is still there when you get home, she's a keeper!

Like most Kiwi Chicks, Str8 has an over developed sense of self worth.

Sort your shit out and do both. If thats not possible do the rally, then again after meeting us you may regret that decision. Mmmmm could all in tears for you...
go to what ever one you think you will get laid at...
Reminds me of the first time I went to the Glenorchy Rally - they had a special" tent set up not too far from the bar.

As said. If she likes you and not some made up just for her character then she al;ready knows about you and bikes and she'll support that. If she doesn't then it will end in tears sooner rather than later anyway.

go to the rally...
sure think about her and txt her that you wish she was there...
but in the end like Cola said...
it will be a sad day for you sooner if you go to the girl...
but what would i know?
i decided to go racing insead of seeing a nice young lady... what did she do? she made the effort to come and see me fall off ( she missed that bit)...
but i realy think she just wanted to go for a ride...lol

Oh to have the choice you lucky man.
My missus hassles me frequently before a ride.."sure your not meeting some biker chick", I repeat in my mind at these times to quell my rising temper a classic line from 'Married with children'. In the scene Al is approached by a stunner wanting some action, his reply?
"Lady the omly women I'm interested in is my wife...And I'm not really intrested in HER"
Dude at 44 years old there should be nothing more important than a ride...women no longer rate.

Well after these pearls of wisdom from all you wonderful people I did the decent thing and phoned her.
Looks like we are both going to the rally. I just have to get my shit together and get some more bags for the bike. She has a friend she can get some riding gear off.
The trick now is to get a tank bag before Friday and find out what you need to take to these things.
I have figured the essentials to take will include somewhere to sleep and alcohol but do you need to take food and stuff to these things or is there somewhere you can grab a hot dog.
looks like I have been lucky enough to find someone who likes the idea of going to a rally or two.

You'll be able to buy everything you need there (alcohol and food), but be warned it's not the cheapest of rallys to buy food from.

food???? errr whats that... they usually have hot dogs & BBQ's and the like, but sometimes its better & cheaper to bring your own (remember no fires)
prolly need a tent (or at least a tarp) a sleping bag unless you stay up all night (sometimes a change of clothes works a treat) depepnds how rough you want to go... every ones different I suppose...

But dilema is solved anyway. I knew she was a good girl - but gooder than thought

All going well we could do this sort of thing together for years - didn't know she was slightly interested in a bike rally until I talked to her tonight.

My 2c, go to the rally. By yourself if she cannot organise herself.
In my experience if you give in to these kinds of things too early you get walked all over and dumped for being to nice a guy for them.
If she still cares after being told biking comes first that makes her worth of a second interview. Back down now and kiss your bike goodbye if she moves in.
