Hi all.

I’m planning to enter the PMCC round 4 races.

I’m just trying to fill out the application for an ’06-’07 competition licence. First question they ask is:

‘Do you hold a competition licence with another federation?’, and then they ask for an ‘MNZ Licence No’.

I’ve got a Vic Club membership card. Does this count as a competition licence, and is the number on it an ‘MNZ Licence No.’?

There’s not much guidance in the form.

Help appreciated.

Nah that isn't the licence number. I think you put somewhere which club you are a member of. If you have not had a licence before just leave the licence number box blank and don't tick that you have a licence with another federation.

Also make sure you send in your membership card with the application form. They need to see it as proof of affiliation with a club. They will send it back with your licence.

Hope you get it sorted ok.

Wicked, thanks for that K14. I thought taht might be the case, but I can't afford to make a mistake on the form and waste time getting it sent back to me, then resend, etc., since the race is pretty soon.

Momentum got a day license at the last one. might save you a bit of coin rather than getting a whole year which is almost over if your only going to enter one or two races this year

Road Rash has a good point there. If you will only do a couple of races between now and June you'd be better off to get a day licence. Then if you're still keen for more, get the full year for your money. I think if you ask for a receipt for the cost of the day licence, you can send that in with your application and can get it a little cheaper.

Bah, just get the full licence, you don't want to have to rely on the possibility of them giving day licences. They aren't that expensive.

They aren't that expensive.
Unless you're on a really tight budget.<_<

Good point. I think I'll do that, if just to save time. Cheers

Found the entry form too, for any interested:

Next issue:

"The modern cheque comes from the Arabic saqq, Persian چك chek, a written vow to pay for goods when they were delivered, to avoid money having to be transported across dangerous terrain. In the 9th century, a Muslim businessman could cash a cheque in China drawn on his bank in Baghdad."

Hopefully they'll take a modern form of EFT, never owned a cheque book.

give me a PM if you want a hand on getting the license sorted. a full license is better way to go. cheaper after 3 meetings than a day license, so if you are on a budget it's still the best way to go. also gives you a more permanent record of the meetings you've competed in. day licenses are also done at the discretion of the club and new rules mean that clubs have to pay for the licenses up front before they are used. some clubs may stop doing them.

Can pretty much say they won't have eftpos. take cash.

Cheers SVS.

I gave one of the PMCC guys a call just now, and he said that unless you're riding motard, it should be sweet as to enter on the day (due to motards having a tonne of entries). So, I'll do that.

I will apply for the MNZ full licence for future use anyway. If it doesn't come in time, I'll just get a day licence.

Are you able to send your entry form in letting them know that you will get a license on the day. I have a license but I found that when i was waiting for the license to turn up I sent in the entry form any way with no license number on it. you may be able to do the same

I spoke to a dude from there, and he said just enter and get your licence on the day. I reckon it should be sweet.
