Me 'n Draco are going up north friday night, planning to do some miles on saturday and explore some of the roads I've never ridden, and some I've not done for a bit.
I'm thinking meet any jafa's that wanna come at the normal place (paparoa) to leave at 11am, than head north up through Twin bridges.Then across the back of the lake and up 1 through the mungamukas and find somewhere for late lunch.Then back down and across thru Keri and paihia to opua and across the ferry to russell. Down russell road to whangas again.
No forest this time (It's a little tight for my liking and it's been done a few times) but a chance to ride some of the other cool roads up there.
Pace will be varied, I'm fastish, Draco's slowish.
Waddaya's reckon?
btw, the shitty weather is supposed to be gone by then...........:sunny:
Edit: The norfland crew can meet outside Maunders before 10 so we can ride down to meet the others.
Edit: The jafa's will meet at shell westgate at 9am for a 9.30 departure, cruise up 16, then 1, then the road to dargaville 'till paparoa (sh12). i will be in whanga's already so someone else will need to co-ordinate this :niceone:
Check here sat morn for updates if the weather looks iffy.

I may be persuaded to do this ride (or part of it) if it was Sunday too...Saturday's chocka. Its a great area to ride through for sure...

Yup - back to Canada he goes....early sunday am...like 5 am early. Bloody Canadians - they all arrive and leave so painfully early...:zzzz: I seem to be a regular at the airport these days - got another lot arriving Friday! :sunny:

Thinking of having a BBQ on saturday night for Death & Draco,after the ride. Have got a couch & mattress for anyone keen to stay for BBQ.
Hopefully weather will be good, was shitty at the start of the week but getting better.

Andy, I'm all good for Saturday, but should the weather not be favourable is the rain date Sunday, or the following weekend?
Haven't given this much thought, but it won't be next saturday (I gotta work) maybe sunday, but have faith in the norfland weather gods, it'll be sweet on saturday.....Pm me ya cell, I'm going up friday night and no internet where I am gonna be, I'll txt ya saturday morn with a weather update and you can update this thread for me :niceone:

gotta see about this one since i dont really have a bike as such ( borrowing me bro's and its only done 500 ks, which means that if we go norf, about 1000 k or so, its gonna be over its first service by 500 ks ....hmmmm)

Seeing as no-one has sorted anything for the jafa's, here's what I suggest, meet at the shell westgate at 9am for a 9.30 departure. Up 16 at a nice legal pace to wellsford, then up 1 till the turnoff to paparoa, then to paparoa ( of course...)

We're gonna head up soon wif the bikes on the trailerand see wassup tomorrow, I'll txt speedie in the am and he'll post it up here.
I'm thinking rain day sunday, and I'll do the same sunday morn (if this isn't good for you speedie txt me, and I'll need someone elses no) We're off in five so I'll see you guys/gals tomorrow or sunday hopefully....

Sorry folks, looked like shitt when I got up....so I txt'd speedie and called it off.
Of course within a couple of hours it was farkin beautiful.....figures.
Had already packed up by then so didn't even get a ride today :(
I won't be re-organising it as we have the youngun back next weekend......
