LoL, yes we are...

There is a large and varied range of styles available to us Aucklanders, but it requires an element of knowing your way around the city and being willing to travel to various different, and sometimes inconvenient, places.

I find the charm of Wellington is that there are so many good places in such an accessable area. My personal Welly fave is Siem Reap (I think that's how it's spelt) - the little Vietnamese place by the ASB...

SO far 50% of the pizza's ive had from hell have been nice, and the other half have been shit.

Id rather wander down to my local restaurant and order a take away wood fired pizza that i KNOW is going to be good.

(note for those shore people: Zavito in Mairangi Bay make nice pizza).

I wasn't too impressed with the pizzas I got last month from Hell in Lincoln Road.

Might have to try Ellerslie some time.

Five Cross Rds in Hamilton are good, and Hell's in the Hawkes Bay too. I ordered one on line, and with the first order they call you to confirm it's not a hoax (they tell you that when you sign up), which they did within 5 mins. I was impressed. :)

I tend to pickup anything I order & they're really busy on Friday nights. I have heard one horror story of an order gone missing, but that was when the 5 Xroads store opened - hopefully they've got that sorted out now.

Had Hells pizza from the one at the top of symonds st...
pretty average maybe caught them on a bad day. If your ever over pakuranga way theres a place called Pizza Delivery Company on Gossamer Drive. Its the one where the poor pizza guy was shot by some lowlife a while back.
By far the best pizza i have ever tasted, its just my humble opinion, but then again i am an enormous fat git of a gutsy pig... they're good value too.

I'll look after any KB'ers keen on a feed from my store, 135 Main Highway Ellerslie, some of the other Hell stores are a bit average i've been doing this shit for 7 years now, some of the other monkeys they got running stores are ex bank managers n stuff that don't have a clue what the hell (xcuse the pun) they are doing. (nothing against bank managers though, without them i wouldn't have a bike but then again i would be some stupid ammount in debt)

But anyhow rock on in to Ellerslie and ask for me i'm there every night apart from Monday's and i'll hook you up........

Just got back from loosebruce's store in Ellerslie with a pair of pizzas and some spare ribs and I can definitely confirm that it's reeeeeal damn good.

(munch munch)

Really good.

Belch.

Better than Lincoln Rd. Lincoln Rd Hell pizzas were just a little flatter, a little less flavoursome, a slightly greater feeling of greasyness... I dunno... how do you get technical about pizza?

The spare ribs were good at both stores, though, I have to say.

Bruce was surprisingly quick at picking up on my not-so-incognito identity, and he wasn't kidding about hooking up KBers for pizza deals, either - ta for the 25% discount mate! You might have to issue standing orders to staff about people who come in wearing KB T-shirts now

Haven't had a Hell pizza yet, though almost did last time we were in Taupo.

For Lower Hutt-ites, we find Hungry Kiwi pizzas really lovely, we have them every so often. "Meat'n3 veg hold the veg" is wonderful. Also, the lemon pepper wedges with roast garlic mayo.......aaaahhhhhhh - wonderful.

That sounds like the Belgian Pub in the entrance to the Casino - right across from Garden Place. And I can confirm that the mussel "pots" are awesome!

Le Dome Belgian Beer Cafe. :apint:

If that's one of the 'chain' of Belgium beer cafes that seem to be popping up everywhere McDonalds-style then yes, those mussel pots are good. I can recommend the same dish at the Blankenberge (?) Belgian Beer Cafe in Takapuna.

The guy that runs Hawkes Bay used to be my hairdresser in Wellingtown, he sold up the salon, made a packet and moved to the bay for the lifestyle.
