Oh, I've heard!!!
We're easy as to which day really, just putting it out there at the mo. If you guys came over tomorrow, you could all do lunch at The Black Harp with the rest of the crew then we could go Karting?

Hey we won't hold it against you, I'm a wuss and my bike will not be leaving it's cozy garage in this weather, and your son will love it too, then the gals could come with in your cage. (Just hand your life over to me, I'll organise it for you, no probs!)

10th January 2007, 12:16
Right, for better or worse Son and I will be in. Organise away
We have two options:
Option 1:
Your son races at 2.30 with a group of other kids (kids prices)
15 minutes = $18.50
20 minutes = $22.00
Adults race after at 3.00 (adult prices with full speed Karts 44km/h)
15 minutes = $26.50
20 minutes = $35.00
Option 2:
We all race together at 3.00
Kids prices
Karts speeds limited to 30km/h
We are happy either way, what would you guys like to do?

I am keen but have to suggest Kaiwharawhara indoor Go Karting.
Took a group to Daytona and they were real anal and kept slowing us down.
There was some close racing with no contact but they were not happy about that and were trigger happy on the remote slow button.
Have done the same at Kaiwharawhara and they were great. They could handle tight racing and the odd nudge.
For a group like this I think Kaiwharawhara would be best. AND both have let me use my own helmet...
My 10c worth (inflation)

Just gave them a call and they said they are fine for us to race tomorrow afternoon, looks to be a bit cheaper as well.

Yep, if we go with the Kaiwharawhara place he can race with us, its a bit cheaper and they don't need us to book so sounds good to me.
So how does 2.30 sound?

If anyone wants to and can attend please fell free.
Wasp, more than keen for an after work session some time as well. Happy for you to start a thread for that.

Awesome afternoon. My arms are still weak, and my Primera feels incredibly vague in the corners.
Will be keen for another go some time, but probably shouldn't spend all my bike savings ...

Not much point going close to that pole; you're still coming out wide from the back hairpin and setting up for the tighter sweeper later. Only required for passing - and that usually worked better on the outside.

Thats the line I took unless I was passing. To be honest, the place is crap. Daytona next time methinks.

It was awesome fun, I was officially the slowest person on the track (although I did pass someone once, but I think he was riding something from before WW2)! Was just thinking the same thing about the weather, we were bloody lucky really. There's another trackday on the 4th of March if you're interested in giving it a go!
