Most of them are physically small to sit on, if you're tall it may be a problem, parts can be hard to get hold of for some as they tend to be used in F3 who snap up any parts that are around.

Other than that... go for it.

have you ridden any of them any decent distance?
the vfr took a bit of getting used to, and a big change in my posture on the bike, just to make it bearable, but thats because I use it for commuting

there have been a couple of threads recently about the 400's:

Just do it man,buy one!!
I have talked my wife into us buying a bike for her,she has her full licence
I have suggested a ZXR400,small enough for her to ride, enough grunt & a spare bike for my race bike
PERFECT!!!!

I'm quite interested in knowing if people can compare for me what some differences are between the GSXR400, CBR400, and VFR400. I'm really quite keen on a VFR after hearing about its engine being a bit more flexable, with a bit more pull in the midrange compared to the inline 4s, but it depends on what those are like. I also like the look of the rear swingarm on the VFR. Must admit I haven't seen too much info or pics of the CBR and GSXR... can anyone assist?

Sorry about the hijack, but it helps both of us. :apint:

My FZR is quite alot bigger than a few of the other 400's because the tank is quite long on it. When its parked next to a 96/7 ZX6R its practically the same size!

Something to think about is the fact that all of these bikes are now getting rather old. Many will no longer have factory parts support from their manufacturer available (or are due to have this happen soon). That said my personal favourite is the NC30.
