Humour me, sleep deprivation and hunger made me think of it. (This probably isn't even the right forum.)
So I'm a fatty right.. I like Wendys, it is nice. But I don't like that I can't order combo's because I have nowhere to stick the cup of coke!
Now I was thinking maybe somewhere on the tank, you could get a plastic cup of some sort, somehow stick it to the tank and then attack velcro to the sides of the cup so you can velcro it up above the cup in order for it to be stable and stay splash free. Or maybe do the same thing but do it on the pillion seat instead of the tank?
Is this the stupidest excuse for a thread or what?
/edit I'm also aware that such a modifcation may get me a severe beating or at the very least make me look like a huge twat, but damnit I'll be a twat with a beverage!

Thats why I go to Buger King as you can get a can of Lift plus and that makes it real easy straight in the bag.
Or get one of those Platapus bladders as you can shove the drink in there and zip it up and away you go!:scooter:

pfft you can rest a Mc Donalds Hunger Buster Large combo on most tanks, just get a card board cup holder and ride home smoothly!
Or keep a roll of electrical tape in your jacket pocket, can fit anything on your tank with enough leccky tape

well i got too hungry and just tipped the drink into a water bottle hehe
Gamgee: If it's on the tank I can just lean over and drink it through the straw under my helmet at the lights, oh yes, I will be the center of attention.

thought it might be useful for long trips

They sell cupholders for bikes in Japan, I thought it was ridiculous when I first saw them. However after experiencing the heat there, and the fact that most bikes in the cities are of the scooter variety and the riders wear open face helmets it quickly made sense.

It would have to be behind the fairing, I tried years ago by getting my pillion to hold the drink and the plastic lid and straw blew off at 50km and covered her and the back of the bike with sticky, and mildly corrosive Coke.
Good idea, I have always been limited by it, and the best way to get it home warm is to take the bike

I still haven't gone to bed, so my mind is wandering into photoshop.
Behold! Visual description !!
(Of course this is all pretty much redundant since a normal water bottle worked perfectly fine and fit the whole drink in it.. it's still fun to dream, and dream I shall!)

what you need is one of those dash board mount self levelling cup holders with a stem mount.
i've often thought about this as I crash box my way back from wendys.

my partner has a plastic [adjustable] cup holder.
two strips of velcro to the underside of said holder, and the opposing two strips sewn onto a specially made material pad some how held on the tank [dunno how he did it now im thinkin!] and presto! cup holder.
i wanted one for the hardbag cos he always put a few drops of whiskey in his. lmfao.
he was able to transfer the holder between bikes. [these were both fully faired harley deckers, so plenty of wind resistance. and an open faced lid was essential.
so it is possible...seen it with my own two eyes!

The closest I came to one was a push bike bottle holder up inside my fairing on the XJ (and on the front of the top for the pillion. Could hold the water bottler of can of coke...
