You will have to get an Ohlins Damper or similar or it will always handle like Shit .

The mans hit it on the head!
I've ridden TL's with Ohlins damper units in them....the feel like a totally different (as in good!) bike!
Do it...best money you could ever spend on a TL...'S' or 'R'...

I reluctantly spent the money on a replacement damper(Ohlins) and as mentioned its a different bike and the bonus is better tyre wear, now they last 3500 kms!!

Les has got you sorted...........if you decide to ever replace it have a look at the hagon unit.........i fitted one a while ago and am very happy.......cheaper than an ohlins for those of us on a budget (read as me) and am wrapped with the ride.

I did it on mine:yes:
Found that while it was fun to muck around with it, not a huge improvement.
I have never riden a TL with an Ohlins. I would have liked to though, as they are a great bike:love:
Still, I found that both of mine only used to tie themselves into knots in certain conditions:sunny: and thay were always very consistant about it  lol.
