A friend of mine left his bike at his workshop last night, normally the bike never goes to the workshop, but circumstances changed and he rode the bike to work and left it there overnight to test drive a customers car. The workshop was ram raided and all that was taken was the bike, no tools or cash went missing.

The bike is a 1976 Triumph Trident T160, Maroon with white flash

It has an Electric strart which is quite rare for this bike

Rego is: 83SHK

The bike is not insured, please let me know if you hear of any info or spot the bike.

I'll try to get a picture up soon.

Cheers

will keep an eye out for it......

But it seems strange that the dude never takes it and leaves it at the workshop..... the only time he does it...... the place gets ram raided and it goes missing and nothing else disappears.

Now either the dude is being watched like a hawk for when he leaves the bike unattended...... or something is fishy here.

He ain't insured......... so someone knows the bike and knew he was leaving it overnight.

Time this dude looks closely at his mates and his mates friends.
Someone has opened up their mouth about this rare bike.

nice touch - very nice (mental note - don't piss MSTRS off...)

Any chance you could get in touch with the lady cop that ticketed me that night on the way to nadroj's place?

it does sound very strange, who ever it was, knew what they were after. sounds like someone saw the bike, maybe a customer of that day, knew that its a rare one and made plans.

Merely part of the same proverb....may the hairs on your arse turn to fish hooks...
Goes on to say..and may your shit fall into your boots and bog you down in your tracks.
Personally I like the old Chinese one...May you live in interesting times.
Sure sounds like an opportunistic targetting of that Trumpy.

They knew it was there - you won't see it on the road again,it'll be taken down for spares. As someone who owned British bikes in the height of their theftability - prevention is better than protection. This guy probably knew all the rules, but the number one rule is to keep it hidden from prying eyes,no one should ever know you own a desirable bike.It was generally accepted that if you rode a British bike, they knew where you lived and worked, how many bikes you had and how they were secured.I don't need a picture,I know exactly what I'm looking for...

Someone connected with Classic or British Bikes knew it was there. Either that or he was just unlucky and some dipstick still thinks they are worth megga bucks when really a HD would make a better return and be easier to sell... Doubt he will see it again - very very sad.

But if it was a customer they wouldn't know it was being left there.

It doesn't stack up as an oppourtunist crime, and if you were knocking over a mechanics workshop there is something in particular you want, car related or tools. If your stealing bikes you knock over a bike mechanic.

If someone was watching you waiting for the moment to steal it why not hit the place where it is usually left during the day?

To me it sounds like someone has mentioned it to some undesirable or someone in a neighbouring workshop has seen you leaving for the night and saw you had left it there and hatched the plan.

My opinion anyway

was it rare because it didn't leak oil?

The no insurance thing rattles me and yep, sadly it seems like he was being watched and they knew where that bike was. T'would make me awfully suspicious....
