Hi everyone, I love the site, just purchased my 2007 Ducati 999s but finding it a bit slow....
Nah only kidding - but I'm allowed to dream arent I?
I have actually been riding again for about 10 months after a friend bought me a days ride on a VTR1000 for my last birthday present. Of course he knew this would hook me and it did. It scared the sh*t out of me but it did not take me long to get back into it. Eased my way in you could say (if that is at all possible on such a bike after not having ridden for about 20years - Yes you heard right.
Needless to say I have settled for a SV650S which I have found to be the perfect bike for me.
Iam an ex South African (lived in NZ for 10 years now) am a Kiwi citizen now and love the country and the people and of course especially the bikers.
My last bike was a Yamaha XJ750, and I also used to owna YZ125 which I used to mess around with on the track (motocross) - Considered myself more of an offroad freak and also owned a 500XR which I raced in the Roof of Africa Rally.
Many have said I am now having my mid life crisis - But as I have told them it is anything but a crisis - in fact more like a saving grace.
Looking forward to contributing as well as gaining valuable (and not so valuable but fun) info.
Thanks KB and users.

Thanks Meanie - Yes I love the usable power - My riding buddy has a Bandit 1200 and I find I can ride both low in the rev range and quite high depends on the ride of course. Great handling bike whatever. I'd love to try it on the track someday.

Hi tassiebhoy - next time you're in the region (NZ North Is) look us up - be good to have a ride. Not sure how the procedure works - Hope someone can help. Mind you it may cost more than simply hiring a similar bike - I know it's not quite the same though.:sunny:
